Dated a girl through AIM from 1995 to 2001

>dated a girl through AIM from 1995 to 2001
>one day she tells me "I don't want to be your girlfriend anymore"
>heart is broken
>immediately block her
>today I learned that she killed herself
>in her suicide letter there was a part aimed at me
>"Dear Joseph
>I said all those years ago that I no longer wanted to be your girlfriend...
>BECAUSE I WANTED TO BE YOUR WIFE!"
>heart is filled with regret
>I wish I hadn't reacted the way that I did... in that long ago year of 2001...

How do I cope with this regret...

Damn...2001 was a tough year for America...

>”Date” for 6 years
>never exchange social media
>never find out where the other lives to write letters/send gifts
>never give a fucking phone number

This really happened

*ssiiiiip* The internet was a different place back then, Zoomer. You wouldn't understand.

did you eat the pop tart or not

I don't believe OP either (pretty sure AIM didn't even exist in 1995), but all of those things you listed are completely believable to me for the time period. When were you born?

>1995
>woman on the internet
Yeah sure buddy

Maybe they were both in the closed alpha release. I believe OP.

Funnily some women will try to trick dudes into "dating" and "committing" to them but will act pissy if you ask for their phone number, social media, or where they live. They will threaten to stop talking to you if you push them on the issue. I have fell for that scam for about a month and I also had a friend who was dating some chick for two years, bought her presents and whatnot, only to find out she was cheating on him and moved to a completely different state without telling him. I found out and became friends with the guy because that girl tried to go on a date with me and he stalked her down and somehow found out about me. I'm not even sure how. Told him I have no interest in dating that girl knowing this, but he offered to pay for my time to go on a date to expose her and bring back intel.
