What's a simple romantic gesture that actually means a lot?

Here's something one of my first boyfriends did that I'll never forget:

He wrote a bunch of sweet notes, 30-50 or so. About 1 line each. Folded them up with things like 'open me when you're sad' etc. Put them in a box with confetti.

Plan a picnic somewhere nice on a Sunday morning or whenever you both are free.

Give her attention based on something she mentioned previously (buy her her favorite pastrie, watch her favorite movie with her, take her to a place she likes etc...)

Buy them something they really like thats a part of their hobbies. My bf, he loves bath and body works stuff. Since he is a guy, people never gift him that stuff even though he has a collection of over 50 different body lotions and shower gels in his bathroom, so people definitely know he loves the stuff. They just never gift it to him.
When he goes to the store to buy himself stuff, the employees always ask if he is buying for his gf.

For easter, i acted like i was going to be too busy to put an easter candy basket together for him. But i surprised him with a small easter basket with b&bw body lotion, shower gel, and hand soap in scents he didnt already have. It only cost me $15 (use coupons) and he cried because he was so happy. Literally shed tears of joy over such a simple gift.

Find what they like/their hobbies and buy them something simple.

Just surprising her with flowers on a random day and telling her how much you love her. She'll probably suck your dick that night.

This but sparingly. Random surprises are good too. I like to be given something that is small/inexpensive but has a special or secret meaning between us. I also like to get random messages/funny photos during the day or a photo of what he is doing. I value those the most, I think.

Previous boyfriend always got up hours earlier than me. Sometimes when he'd had enough he'd wake me up all excitedly, I'd be all grumpy about being woken, but as soon as I opened my eyes he'd exclaim, "yay, now we can hang out again!" Cute as heck, created that confusing 'trying to be grumpy but can't help smiling' effect. He later showed me he got the idea from a Calvin and Hobbes comic.
