Rural Montana is dying small towns that used to rely on ranching and forestry. These places have high unemployment and it'd hard to make a living here. The people who stay are poor and do lots of drugs.

Bozeman, Missoula, and the Bitteroot Valley are places where rich people move to retire which drives up the cost of living even though employment opportunities dont grow.

Butte, Billings, and Great Falls have a good mix of shitty meth users and standard American suburbia.

Overall the only real things to do here are outdoor related. Montana is one of the best places in the world for hiking, skiing, hunting, etc. If thats not your thing then you'll be bored.
