What went wrong, Jow Forums? A decade ago, Tea Party rallies could gather tens of THOUSANDS of people. Now, for the Tea Party's "big" 10th anniversary gathering, almost nobody showed up:
>Small rally marks tea party’s big impact in Georgia
>Ten years ago, thousands of conservatives flocked to Georgia’s Statehouse for the first major tea party rally in Atlanta. An anniversary celebration that featured prominent Republican speakers on Monday drew fewer than 50 people. The sparse crowd underscored the tea party’s challenges in Georgia. The movement helped shape Republican politics over the past decade, morphing its focus from fiscal policy to one that’s defined GOP stances on health care, immigration and other issues.
>But the activists now struggle to retain the same influence over the political system they helped create. They’ve learned it can be harder to energize Georgia tea party members when Republicans control both the Statehouse and the White House.
>“Anger is a very motivating emotion,” said Jenny Beth Martin, the co-founder of the Tea Party Patriots, describing the organization’s pivot. “What we are doing now is less about being angry and more about laying the groundwork for two different visions. One is socialist. The other is liberty-based,” she said...
>In the audience and on stage, the tea party leaders cast the movement’s future as an enduring marriage between fiscal conservative policies and culturally social stances embraced by evangelical Christians.
The smart ones realized there is no political solution and are probably just waiting to die

Tea party members were targeted by the IRS under Obama, destroying lives and homes. Scared people away and the tea party people are what made the new MAGA movement. Go to a maga rally if you want to see a modern day tea party

what year is this again?

tea party are boomer fags. we are the honk squad now.

Had no clue this was even going on.

>Tea party members were targeted by the IRS under Obama
I've seen that claim a lot, but if that's true, where were the prosecutions/indictments after the GOP retook the presidency and both houses of Congress? If something like that actually happened, why didn't guys like Trey Gowdy drop the guillotine on the guilty parties?

>Trump rallies are the new Tea Party rallies Packed with overflow of thousands and thousands watching on screens.
I would have still liked to chat. Isn't the Tea Party just libertarians?
Josiah Parker
the age of cuckservatives is over

Seems like it was all over the place. Their first big political "victory" was putting Marco Rubio in the Senate after he ran on a "Tea Party" platform, whatever that meant. To be honest, I don't see how Rubio is different from any other standard non-Tea Party GOP cuck.
no one smart would go becasue of the false pretense
Wyatt Wood
Rubio is the definition of cuckservative. Sad! ?
Owen Harris
The tea party fizzles in 2019 for the same reasons the anti-war movement fizzled in 2010.

Both parties sides of the same coin user. It was actually John McCain that brought the idea to Louis lerner. You will find better info looking up "Louis Lerner scandal' than 'tea party irs scandal' just another memory hole trick to pin it all on one person

People don't rally behind essays and well reasoned arguments. They don't stand with people who constantly get their shit pushed in and never hit back.
Fucking shit, no one on this board knows their fucking history and just spouts off uninformed stupidity.
The Tea party was coopted early on by the Koch brothers when it was an early movement to push Ron Paul. The Koch brothers made it seem like it was grass roots but really it was about pushing the Koch brothers cuckservative agenda. Tea party isn't around anymore because as another user said, their leaders were targeted by the IRS on orders from Obama, but more so, they're funding ran out.

I remember occupy wall street happening at about the same time as the tea party mumbo jumbo. Really interesting how hard OWS got shut down and disrupted when the tea party stuff was shilled so much (at least by fox) and got a ton of money injected into it.
