What does Jow Forums think of Amish/Mennonite people?

What’re your experiences with them? What’s your opinion of them? People who have met them, how big were their family sizes and which county was it that you met them in?

Hard working

Seem friendly enough, at least the ones that are out and about. Horse drawn carriages make roads less safe and horses shit everywhere, though.

All I can think about is the weird Al song

they're jews

They are good people, make great food. I go to the Amish market here in Maryland every now and then.

In Sarasota, Florida where I used to live there are a bunch of Amish people that spend the winters there. It's a big community called Pinecraft.

Attached: amish_pinecraft.jpg (1024x615, 213K)

Amish just came to a point in time where they said. This is it, this is where we will stay, we work our land to feed our family, if we need a barn we'll build a barn, if we need a carriage we'll build a carriage.

These people, their forebears saw that the point they were at was happiness at its fullest. And they pass it through. I wish I was Amish but I am ruined now by technology

More Amish in Sarasota FL

Attached: amish_siesta_key.jpg (1300x953, 131K)

Desu I wish I had been born into them. I’m too into a Worldy lifestyle now of trying to become wealthy and enjoy its comforts too much, but I think I would have been much happier being one. Simple life, good people, wholesome loving family.

> I wish I was Amish but I am ruined now by technology
True, but take the positives. Next time you get a bad toothache you'll thank the merciful lord you were born today and not 1800

some of the last decent folk left, traditional values, hard working, self sufficient, modestly dressed, not infected by social marxism what isn't to love.

They're heretics, but they look like really good people

Hard working yes. They are inbred retards though. They will also fuck you over in a heartbeat if they see an advantage to it, and don't think anyone outside their sect is real people.

They are basically German Lutheran Hasidic Jews.

They are kind people. We have amish restaurants where I live and a sizable amish and menanite community. They sell some damn nice furniture, too. I have about as many children as a regular amish (six now) person and we go to the restaurant together fairly regularly. The amish women there always make over my youngest baby because he has a full head of wild red hair and often give us free homemade fudge. They have invited us a few times to attend the amish church services, but we've never taken them up on it.

tl;dr my experiences with the amish have always been very positive.

Nope they're pure white germans

Bet they are happier than either of us.

Also I need to add that my view is likely biased, as my grandmother was raised as a menanite, and immigrated to the United States from Denmark.

these people are absolutely not jews.

I only have one experience with them. I saw a bunch of them in Walmart, buying toilet paper. Nothing else, just as many of the 48 packs of asswipe as they could fit into a conga line of like 8 shopping carts. I'd estimate they bought around 3000 rolls of toilet paper that day.

Grew up in an Anabaptist family, parents consider themselves Mennonite, lived in PA for several years as a child, during which we mostly attended River Brethren churches.

They're friendly, kind, hard-working people, but there's some weird cultural bits in there. Autistic nitpicking about car colors and designs of headscarves, for example.

They're certainly not ethnically pure, but there's nobody more traditional in lifestyle than these groups, and that alone generally means that there isn't much diversity.

Also, to add, there are many anabaptist groups beyond these. Some Hutterite communities are probably the absolute dream for weary Jow Forumslacks.

we got some mennonites in south florida that make some kick ass sticky buns and awesome baked bread they are ok in my book

Good, honest, hardworking people.

I still live there you see them all riding their bicycles and tricycles all over.

They do great leather work, run good restaurants and have really good farmera markets.

>What’re your experiences with them? What’s your opinion of them? People who have met them, how big were their family sizes and which county was it that you met them in?

They're about the closest you can get to a people who embody classic American values: honesty, faith, family, diligence. The problem is that this lifestyle, although fundamentally satisfying, makes them vulnerable to better-equipped adversaries. Their destiny, without the US protectorate, would be exactly that same as native Americans - eradication and banishment.

I thought I'd gone to the limits. I hadn't. The Mennonites gave me an experience beyond limits.

Attached: Mennonites have such sights to show you.jpg (1266x706, 442K)

Not necessarily. There are Hutterites all over the world, and a lot of Mennonites came from slavic areas solely to escape communism. If anything, their lifestyle simply results in either isolation or this sort of external charisma that makes other people like them. This is a culture that takes turning the other cheek to a surprising extreme. Quite often, nobody bothers them because it's like kicking a puppy.

>Quite often, nobody bothers them because it's like kicking a puppy.

Yes, precisely. Totally and utterly harmless. A people like this can only survive in times of peace.

TheIndustrial Revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race.

And yet they survived several world wars while being in the middle of Europe. The only things that have displaced them in any notable numbers were communism and organized persecution. And even then, all that happened was displacement - they were never destroyed.

It's almost like they were blessed for their faith and righteousness, or something...

They had nothing of value or people would have eradicated them.

After the collapse of America, they will either rise to the challenge and grow some teeth, or they will die out. All that user is saying is that they will have to embrace technology in the future or their future enemies (Islam, globalist kike minions, etc) will eradicate them.

Personally, I hope time and fate preserves them through the trials that the West will soon be facing. Like many here, I sort of wish I had been born into such a life.

>They had nothing of value or people would have eradicated them
Shitloads of farmland and top-tier farming knowledge passed down through many generations.

>technology
Oh, so you don't actually know what you're talking about. Only the Amish reject technology completely, and even then it's only certain branches and sects.

>They are basically German Lutheran Hasidic Jews.
youtube.com/watch?v=pEAXGY_HFU0

Probably one of the best groups in the US, and considering how many children they have, and the fact that the Amish are almost entirely of German decent, they will probably be the saviours of Europeans there, I only wish they were slightly more militaristic, and were more prepared for violence.

I went there for like a day, they were all pretty nice and happy to introduce their culture to curious tourists. I'm sure they make lots of money of it too but either way.

My Spanish teacher was Mennonite. She was very polite and an all-round good, and moral person.

I come from a family of Anabaptists. I've heard some stories. There's good folks and bad everywhere.

Fucking lost my shit. Thanks user, I needed that after yesterday.

As I walk through the valley where I harvest my grain,
I take a look at my wife and realize she's very plain

That would look more cultish and opposite of the lower profile many try to take. Many early Anabaptists were exiled from their host countries. My family were kicked out of Switzerland for example and part of the Pennsylvania resettlement in 1709.

Bigot

But that's just perfect for an Amish like me
You know, I shun fancy things like electricity

I'd forgotten about it until I read user's post. Glad I got the chance to post it.

They have the women question sorted.

Based

High birthrates and expanding territory

Attached: Amish population.png (300x225, 15K)

Funny enough, a lot of younger Anabaptists get into guns. My brother-in-law is Hutterite and owns a couple of really gucci ARs. One of his friends hinted that they do drills with them now and then.

Wow I don’t know much about Hutterites. What’re their birth rates (how many kids per senpai) and which state is this?

Solid strategy. Exactly what Jesus was going for with the turn the other cheek policy I think. Can you imagine the public outcry if they Waco'd the local Yoder's dairy?

Attached: shotgunjesus.jpg (400x303, 30K)

Mennonites are fucking based. A clan of them moved into the county I live in a few years ago and they make some incredible food that they sell for cheap. They also just go around helping people out however they can. Saw a fucking squad of them change a dude's tire on the side of the road one day in about 2 minutes.

Seems like a place most Jow Forums spergs can only dream about.
Many such cases.

Theyre wonderful and don't give a fuck, if you have the money they'll even sell you a daughter.

Old order mennonites? Again how big are their families?

I don't know much about them. Any time I see them out in public or at one of their roadside stands, there's always at least 6 of them.

I met some in the area around Fort Wayne Indiana. More like I saw them. Driving buggies on Sunday morning. I also saw them in Sears looking at tools because a lot of them had construction companies because I guess there were too many of them for farming. I didn't have any real impressions of them except they looked inbred sometimes and had surprisingly dark/olive complexion in many cases.

classic lol

They're not Lutheran at all. They're Anabaptist.

>t.Lutheran pastor

Is he still living within the community? Hutterites in Canada tend to stay in their communities, it is suprising the young man married out. I can get work with realtives here and there because of my name, but my part of the family are modern, degenerate and not welcome to actually live with them.

heretics

I saw a very Amish looking duo buy cigarettes and alcohol from a gas station at about 2:45 in the morning. They left on horses.

Exactly. Keeping up a friendly demeanor allows them to stay under the radar, and generally liked in public perspective. Trade benefits everyone, but for the most part they just want to be left alone.

This right here.

these people are remnants of the 30 years war, right?

I live around here and I’ve got to say that they are pretty scummy. I used to work a supermarket on the edge of amish country and they would come and buy cart fulls of frozen food and soda. they all had battery operated phones and hired other amish to drive them to the grocery. the sects here seem very separated from the pure amish doctrines I hear about in other communities. there was this girl at my middle school who’s whole family was slaughtered by an unmarked white truck that rammed into their buggy. at the funeral weeks later, some the same family’s whole property was lit up in flames because of an arson. no arrests where made. my friends in the country say they have huge barn partys where they crank up music and all pass out in the corn fields in a mile radius of their property. they have a majority of construction businesses and are responsible for building most of the suburbs of fort wayne. personally I’ve always hated them

FUCK hiroshimoot. I have no idea what's making this get flagged, so here's what I was going to type.

Attached: pol post 1.png (773x578, 50K)

Also it was much more that my sister married in, than her husband married out.

>if you have the money they'll even sell you a daughter.
I think I... left the stove on... brb...

Yes and no? I know there is a lot tied in. The reformation in Switzerland and religious civil war had a lot to do with it. Many german refugees from 30 year war didnt make it to the New World, though some landed in new york I think a couple thousand.

As someone who grew up around and currently lives around the Amish, I’ll say this: There is a lot more than meets the eye with them. They are essentially Luddite Wahabists that don’t espouse/perpetrate violence on those outside their religion. Otherwise they are as inbred and backwards as fundamental muzzies. Sure, their bloodline is “pure” but that comes at the cost of having had no new genes introduced. There’s a very small population of the Amish and without a strict eugenics program they end up banging distant relatives all the time to the point that their family tree is closer to that of a shrub. The claims that they don’t have the mental illness rates of the general society are BS; the only reason they don’t is they don’t believe in mental illness. Mental illness doesn’t exists if you don’t believe in it, and they don’t. To them mental illness is satan/a demon possessing someone, or God punishing them. This following story should highlight just how fucked they are.

1/3

Thanks I read it. Which state is this though?

I own/operate a small (mostly) subsistence farm aside from my mfg business. One day this Amish boy runs over, no shirt on, bloodied face, asking me to call the cops, says his dad is going to kill his mom and/or his brother. I call the cops and sit tight, any other time I’d go intervene but I’ve learned you don’t put your nose into Amish business. Cops come over ask me what happened, take the boy out to the car and eventually drive off. Couple days go by and I ask my sheriffs deputy buddy what happened; not a damn thing. They got to the boys house, nobody was there except for the father who had busted up knuckles and a fair amount of blood on him. The boy told the cops his son flipped out when one of the older brothers broke an axes handle, the father started to beat him with it and the mom stepped in after the boy went limp. That pissed the dad off so he started belting her, at this point the oldest brother tried to stop him and got KO’d with the broken ax handle. Not a damn thing happened to the dad because there wasn’t anything to coroborate his story.

2/3

Sorry, not gonna say what state my family members are in.

Don’t remember if I got the visit from the dad before or after I talked to my deputy buddy. Anyhow, he drops by with a couple other of his friends, tells me to stay out of their business. I remind him that it became my business when a bloodied child showed up on my property. He didn’t like that, tried to double down on what he said earlier, I told them to kindly GTFO. A couple days later I go out to my barn, all kinds of shit is fucked up and broken, windows/etc., tool boxes over turned and tools scattered everywhere, four tires on my tractor slashed among other shit they did to it. I have security cameras EVERYWHERE on my property after some PITA fucks cocked over a bunch of shit a few years back. Lo and behold it was the guys who were at my house a few days ago, minus the dad, plus a couple new faces. Long story short, I pressed charges, and sued them for the damages. Got a visit after the civil case was resolved from a few “elders” in the community that was the equivalent to the nigger response of they a good boy the dindu nuffin’.

I could go on at great length how they’re just nonviolent, degenerate wahabists, but that story should give you a good picture of who they are. And that story isn’t a one off occurrence, shit like that is the norm for the Amish.

They're okay. All the men look the exact same. The women can be really cute, especially those in their 20's. Otherwise, they keep to themselves in my state (Wisconsin). They make some fucking amazing icecream.

That’s okay, thanks for the info

Very interesting user. I'll say this, they definitely keep up appearances in public.

dont talk to me or my wife's sons ever again

Are you interested in Anabaptist groups? Looking to join one, or just wondering about them? If the former, I can give you some general pointers.

Ohh they’re masters at it, equaled only by (((them))) and the muzzies in their taqiyya, they just don’t have to put as much work into it as no one gives a fuck about white people oppressing other white people.

Irrelevant. They will purged off their land after the brown hordes take control.

The ladder sorry

How friendly are different Anabaptist groups with one another?

I used to have an ex-amish friend who boxed with me. He left his community of his own will and afterwards, they forbade him from returning.

He's obsessed with technology. At the time, he had the latest smart phone, headphones and all those other techy accessories.

He said that, from the outside, Amish life looks ideal, because of the strict traditions and what not. On the inside, however, it's comparable to Shia law. He told me that if he had not left when he did, he would've killed himself because of how uncaring his parents were. Constant abuse and neglect, and expected to work like a fucking animal. He joked with me once and said that the cattle used to till their fields had it better.

His name was Abner. He also told me that there were around 6-7 other Abner's in their community.

What an awful, soulless, dull life it must've been before he left.

Fuck off retard

They're like the opposite of Jews....except for the ones that try to slap a sticker on and sell shit furniture for $4000.

The women don't shave and smell terrible like the worst BO. But there's a bar in Decatur Indiana where they go in regular clothes to get laid, because they are so in bred the elders send them there

decatur is based. I’ve only been a few times but it’s a nice town

>Oy gevalt

Lmfao

Varies, but there's nothing more comfortable than tagging along with 3 or 4 different theologians and pastors as they go for a walk in the woods or through the fields and discuss super niche theology on a cold day, and then going inside and their wives have made tea and coffee and cookies for everyone, and they all sit in massive overstuffed armchairs and continue discussing while a dozen white children run around and play with toy tractors and the interested-but-not-yet-devout ones sit on the floor listening carefully, and you can hear the chatter of wives in the kitchen as they prepare an evening meal, and then you sneak out with a couple of the older unmarried lads and grab some rifles to see if you can poach a deer before it's time to eat because the game wardens don't care since at least half the locals practice sustenance hunting and always give the wardens a few choice cuts when they show up - and that's assuming that the wardens themselves aren't already poaching.

In its worst incarnations, Anabaptist community is like and , but in its best, there's nothing like it. It is a wholesome, pure notion, and the world would be a much better place if everyone strove for it.

Sometimes I miss it very much, but I was always the black sheep even in my own family, and I consider my current state an inevitability.

Attached: random huterrite family found on google images.jpg (1000x667, 477K)

Do the Amish/Mennos/Hunnis have guns at all?

Many have fudd guns, some have ARs. The general nonviolence/nonresistance principles mean that they're not likely to use them for fighting, but youth are always hot-blooded. If, say, third parties attacked them in an organized fashion, I could easily see young men leaving the church to take up arms just to protect their families.

If you do not contribute to the defence of the country, you do not deserve to live in that country.

Same. I think I could still make the jump but it would be hard as you have to more or less shun your worldly parents who raised you. I feel that would be disrespectful to them. But I dream of living the trad comfy Amish life.

Great people there are many farms and familys that live near me. I buy all my produce from them and get my bike repairs and tune ups from them. Lots of qt daughters that I lust over.

>tfw no qt 16 year old amish wife :(
>tfw no qt Amish wife to make lots of babies with :(
>tfw no Amish wife serving me dinner after a good days work :(

I run a small B-grade lumber yard.
The Amish and Mennonites are some of my biggest customers. Sometimes they come in and spend over $5000 on lumber.
Anyways, they’re not good people. They think your eternal soul is going to hell, and they really don’t care. They just think they are better than you. Not to mention they’re so fucking ugly. I have seen a few Amish people that really make you wonder whether or not that was an actual human.
Also, them being hard workers is a total meme. They are some lazy sons of bitches.
But their money is just as good as anyone’s.

>But their money is just as good as anyone’s.
Where do they get it?

yeah some hunt like madmen. when you see a large tower on amish property it’s so they can hunt and find the carcass as quick as possible. as says, they can vary from violent retard hicks to introspective theologians

I'm curious because I guess you could say I'm an Anabaptist myself. My family had a Methodist minister sprinkle water on me as an infant but that doesn't mean shot to me. As a child and young man I had no interest in church but 16 months ago I drug my Dad out to the beach with me on Christmas morning at dawn and I jumped in. When doing so, I made a promise to God. Now I have to keep that promise.

good people

there's a lot of mennonites in the part of phoenix i live in. seem like amish lite: their allowed cars and phones and stuff, but still dress like it's 1799.
haven't had any personal dealings with them though so i don't know what they're like.
