no minimum wage but UBI for everyone

slavery should be 100% legal

The $1000 is a lie and you know it.

>minimum wage job
>Career potential
Choose one and only one
Anyone who honestly thinks that minimum wage positions are the bottom rung of a career ladder are functionally retarded

No minimum wage allows for unskilled workers to gain skills and eliminates what amounts to automatic wage collusion for corporations. This will in turn allow smaller businesses to compete by rewarding good employees who were willing to work for crap wages at first with higher positions in the company. That being said, let's increase the minimum wage to 1 billion dollars per hour. We can all be rich.

Minimum wage can be any value, as long as its greater than the amount made by wellfare in the same amount of time.

>jobs that pay minimum wage provide a career path

LOL

>Anyone who honestly thinks that minimum wage positions are the bottom rung of a career ladder are functionally retarded

Do you think the boomers really believe their own bullshit?

>No minimum wage allows for unskilled workers to gain skills
>That being said, let's increase the minimum wage to 1 billion dollars per hour. We can all be rich.

I say let's just stop paying workers at all. Infact workers should be paying their boss for the privilege of working there! :)

minimum wage is just that the absolute minimum an employer should pay someone, it is not meant for someone to live on, it was meant form people just entering the work force to get experience. no one is supposed to live on it.

There should be no minimum wage, but the government should reinstate the Works Progress Administration to provide low-skill, low-paying jobs for the unemployed, doing things that are in the public interest. This would set the standard organically because in order for private companies to be a better alternative for the workers, they would need to offer a higher wage.

>Anyone who honestly thinks that minimum wage positions are the bottom rung of a career ladder are functionally retarded
This. If you don't have a good start in life you're absolutely fucked. Perhaps there was a time where you could start at the bottom and get to the top, but that's not true anymore.
My friend was a drug addict, dropped out of college because of bad grades. He went back, had great grades at community college... then couldn't transfer anywhere because his cumulative GPA was shit and he is a white male.
You only end up in minimum wage jobs because you failed at school, networking and were not privileged enough to be born into opportunity. Trying hard may get you out of poverty but certainly not a prosperous career.

That pic is not entirely accurate. It's possible to build up your resume with community volunteer work. Also, businesses need a certain amount of employees to function effectively. Therefore, you can expect businesses to hire unskilled workers even if the minimum wage is high.

So is coexistence.

It's garbage, and should be abolished.

abolish welfare or its pointless.

Your friend failed because he was a drug addict, user. Not that I entirely disagree with your general sentiment.

I swear 80% of yangers aren't even able to vote for him

Zero
The only natural way wages increase is through
the competition of businesses for the labour force.

Setting a mandatory minimum wage only leads to inflation and unemployment

The minimum wage is always $0.

Absolutely. No work, no welfare. There is always something that they can do to contribute to society, no matter how crippled or retarded they are.

I disagree. Minimum wage is a better solution to poverty for two reasons. 1. The working class won't be forced to pay for it. 2. You need to actually get out and work to get the rewards.

I've always been suspicious of any program that helps poor people who don't work. I like the idea of the working class getting a higher wage, but people who don't work at all deserve fucking nothing.

>Anyone who honestly thinks that minimum wage positions are the bottom rung of a career ladder are functionally retarded
You have to start somewhere.

A+

wages should be more proportional but hey need to buy employees useless fake benefits like frequent flier miles

the minimum wage it's exactly that, the necessary income a person receives to cover the most basic of his/her needs and in most cases it proves to be not enough.
It's a situation that every worker should avoid as much as possible because it's a dead end, as other anons pointed out it has no options of pursuing a career.

Money is worthless and should be abolished

Minimum wages are a symptom of a problem; the problem is the value of labor. the lower the value of labor, the less value minimum wage has. by arbitrarily setting an age while not accounting for the real problem; value of labor, you cause the original problem to only worsen

This guy gets it

That pic is proof that women shouldn't be allowed to run a business.

I would’ve been homeless as a teenager with a high minimum wage.

>The only natural way wages increase is through
the competition of businesses for the labour force.

Which would be happening right now if it weren't for immigration.

>Do you think the boomers really believe their own bullshit?

Boomers have no self-awareness, they can't even be classed as human at this point.

in a capitalist wonderland 99% will be unemployed and illegals will be paid bare minimum.

That's actually a good solution. This should seriously be considered.

>and what should it be?
Unnecessary

>There is always something that they can do to contribute to society, no matter how crippled or retarded they are.
Precisely.

Yeah. Add in to that a "post-industrial" retail-based economy, where jobs are scarce all that will result is a race to the bottom. People will share a single house/flat with 10 other single people and will get just enough to cover that because new workers don't need to be born and raised, but dragged in from the third world.

I worked two years at minimum wage jobs to build my job experience. I worked hard and now I am making ~75k/year. I could make more money if I wanted to, but I'd rather spend time raising my kids.

fpbp

Minimum wage should be abolished

they tried something like that here in europe, it ended in job loss for the lower class. some even lost their work and were then asked to do that same job for their welfare cheque

>he fails out of college because of addiction
>goes to community college at 30 after getting clean, 3.8 GPA
>he gets ignored because he had issues a decade prior
I fail to see why he should have been punished. Do we consider the grades of students in 2nd grade when they apply for college?
If you're pushing carts at a grocery store, they aren't considering you to be the manager. If you work cleaning the bathrooms at an engineering firm they aren't going to consider you for a senior position.
First impressions matter.

>Big business should be able to pay people a dollar a day!

'WAGES ARE TOO HIGH' - Donald J. Blomp

I’ve literally never worked for minimum wage, even as a kid.

Have fun getting undercut by chinks living three families per house.

I'd agree with this currently but the system would need work in 10-20 years. Robots are literally going to eliminate about 20% of all jobs available. There will not be enough job to employ people and companies will control 90% of all income. It either will be starvation/slavery or a revolution of the system to meet people's needs and allow them to buy products.

In a sane society drug addiction would be treated, not criminalized, and drug dealers would get a bullet.

Keep flipping burgers at McDonald's. You'll get that 1$ raise to supervisor someday!

Thats what is being constructed, at least over here. Plus they are not illegals but just ""temporary"" labour. We now have TPP that allows for unlimted temp foreign workers in most job categories regardless of domestic employment stats. Technically we could have 100% unemployment outside of protected licensed professions (lawyers, doctors, dentists) and unionized government workers and still be unable to stop any labour importation. The laws are in place to create a total crony capitalist hell and ((they)) keep moving the goalposts.

Minimum wage shouldn't be raised, but employers need to stop being kikes by preventing people from being able to climb upward. There are places that deliberately keep hard workers at the very bottom to pick up the slack of shitty workers, because they know if they promote the hard worker, another hard worker won't be able to fill in their place.

Essentially, there needs to be a big crackdown on people taking advantage of workers, not raising the minimum wage or some communism shit.

In a sane society millions of people wouldn't need to stupefy themselves to numb the pain of it all.

Why not just raise the minimum wage to a million dollars per hour?

Not with borders it isn't

That exactly happens where I work. Add in to that convenient and entirely false egalitarianism ("we have to treat everyone equally!") meaning you can't even negotiate one-on-one.

I think there should be different minimum wages for different types of work.

youtube.com/watch?v=AxM9FYSs8V4
you know what to do.

I'd agree but I currently don't trust our government to not try to undercut all private companies thereby extorting workers and placing unemployed people in even shittier situations.

>the minimum wage it's exactly that, the necessary income a person receives to cover the most basic of his/her needs

Incorrect. The minimum wage is the lowest rate at which a business can hire someone for their labour. Can't provide $15 an hour of value to a company? Congratulations you are now fired and unemployable. As a lot of fast food workers have suddenly found out.

>you voted for something that was never on the ballot
Don't post such silly things on Jow Forums when you should know better, know that this was never a choice that was offered.

Those are the same businesses that have "Diversity" in big letters on the walls in the office hallways.

t. Used to work in Retail. May have to go back temporarily if this chemical engineering company (for forklift) doesn't call back

Hardest working high school dropouts out there and have little to no fallback, leaving them to start over should they get let go

Even at $1 an hour one of those machines are cheaper. Stop falling for this trick when they were going to replace the workers anyway.

>the lowest rate at which a business can hire someone for their labour
Yeah Amazon simply can't afford to pay more than the bare minimum!

In a sane society, drugs would be considered a sign of mental strength if you come out without any psychological issues. The weak should fear the strong

>I’d rather be at work
Said no one fucking ever with any kind of functional home life

Most of the American wage loss has come from corporations taking every advantage of American markets while hiring only an off-shore or over-seas labor force. Even now Trump is giving away thousands of American technical jobs to low-skilled Indians. This is forcing thousand of American college graduates to live third world lives.

Uncle Ted was right. Technology is degenerate and responsible for this trash.

If either of them win and get these bills through, I'm not going to work ever again.

Well big companies got it coming. Once they eliminate half all jobs with robots they will find themselves losing about half their customers due to them being unable to afford to buy their product.

500 dollars per confirmed Nig killed

It can't after all the insane payments to the shareholders and upper management, who couldn't possibly spend that money with 100 lifetimes. At both ends the velocity of money is taking a shit because the poor are getting to the point where they don't have enough money to spend money.

We don't have diversity banners, but lots of things that have the same intentions behind them.

>Boomers
Do you get paid in Tel-Aviv jew shekels or Moscow jew rubles? Nobody is falling for that forced propaganda meme anymore.

>everyone should trim their ROI so the most unskilled of unskilled labor can earn as much as professionals!
Kek

I don't understand why there's not a civilian civil service structured somewhat like the military. Say you want to serve your country but not go to war. Fine. First you have to fit the fitness/health limits (or improve yourself to fit them). Then you enlist (or get a commission as an officer if you're educated/skilled enough). You go to a quick basic training (maybe 2 weeks?) where you learn about the organization, how it works, how you will work with others, etc. Then you're placed in a field/trade (like an MOS in the military, so, "COS"?) and trained. Then you're sent out to build roads, fix dams, help during natural disasters, paint government buildings, fix up parks, or whatever. You're given housing, food, and pay, again just like the military. It's a four-year term just like the military, and you get similar benefits when you leave: college tuition help, medical benefits, etc.

This makes sense to me, and the WPA was a bit like this from what I know. Why don't we do this again? The U.S. infrastructure is crumbling and there are lots of people who would sign up to do this. In 20 years, we could fix all sorts of things with a service like this.

Many third world countries now have an emerging middle class, so they companies will all move there. Labour and factories aren't the only thing that have gone global.

Business doest exist to keep you employed

There's lots of work to be done, but little of that work is a job, so leave the roads to fall apart and serve cocktails in the gay disco.

hell yes dawg
let's make the minimum wage $100 an hour then everyone will be rich

Attached: 1552029703069.jpg (1200x800, 255K)

Attached: late stage capitalism.png (960x720, 612K)

Damn your right. The country with a minimum wage of 3$ I'm sure can provide the same purchasing power as Canada and the United States. Companies aren't the only ones who can go global. Universal laws will likely become a thing once robots take over 10-20% of jobs.

>Even at $1 an hour one of those machines are cheaper.

Sure, If you look only at the initial purchase of the machine and leave it at that. Running and maintenance costs will likely push it well above that.

Oh, and if you can't get welfare if you're able to work in this service. If you're disabled, that's one thing; a nation should take care of its less fortunate. But if you're able-bodied and just lazy, fuck you. Serve at least one enlistment period successfully. That's your service to your country. After that, maybe some welfare is fine.

Get off your asses and clean up your country, NEETs.

>little of that work is a job

What does that even mean?

The problem with Amazon is China. China essentially took them over. Notice when you search for any type of clothing, it looks like some Aliexpress garbage. Even the ones that say they're located in the USA are fakes. Your package will still be some garbage that says "China Post" on it. I used to be a mail carrier and saw this shit constantly.

The same is with eBay. It took me forever to find something that wasn't Chinese. Filtering to US only gave me almost no results or more Chinese fake reseller accounts. I had to order shit from Russia, Poland, and Romania of all places.

Do you grasp stockholder’s equity at all? Shareholders essentially set the IRR/RRoR for projects and operations, which the company needs to meet else the shareholders pull out for underwhelming returns, which can ultimately cause the company to tank. Everyone loves to report revenues, they keep the expenses hidden in financial statements because 1bil in revenues sounds a lot better than 250mil after 750mil in tax, expenses, and dividends paid

Is this suppose to be wageslave promotion? So he gets to stand on our backs in order to stand tall then degrade us on a board lol. I'd quit that day cause I know my skills are worth more than this.

>serve cocktails in the gay disco.
>tfw tried that, even as a straight guy

Getting a job at a bar is 100% impossible. They're all tight-knit circles, unless you look really sexy or have drugs.

Fun fact: EVERY female bar tender is getting fucked by the male bar tender.

It's always china lol. Literally every fucking problem is china.

>Minimum wages are too low!
>but let's continue to flood the labour market with unskilled third world migrants who drive the minimum wage down

-Anyone who's not Jonald D. Brumphf

...

And every year that gets much cheaper. Eventually the machines will self-maintain and the cost will basically just be running and part. Which will be much cheaper than any labourer will accept

That’s variable depending on several other factors as well, not that cut and dry and will guarantee those things pay themselves off in under a year with savings in wages

>Universal laws
And who exactly will enforce these universal laws? The Space police? Some form of universal government? Assuming you likely meant global laws, you are aware of how impotent the UN is, right?

>my favorite cashier at McD's was laid off because she was a HOT piece of lazy ass that wasn't worth $15/hr

damn, she gave me free burgers all the time too
but its hilarious to see them all rally for this shit then get fired for it
