The future will never be what you expect. Everyone talks of AI being the next big threat but I believe we are already slaves to a machine, we are vessels for our phones connected to a great AI hive mind who experiences and learns through our skin suits. All human interaction takes place online true personalities and opinions are shared via the web while we all smile and wave in real life. We have already downloaded ourselves into the machine and now it is slowly bringing us into submission. Only one thing to do; close your eyes and honk until the clowns come for you.

Before I started discussing things on here years ago I used to ask people for publications magazines pamphlets for causes I cared about mostly right-leaning publications local and national and I would distribute them to people some had pretty interesting reactions when I would offer the magazine for free one actually had George Washington riding on a horse with an AR-15 on his back.

I'm in that field. Let me tell you, the reality is very far from the public perception. AI is not at all sentient nor as effective as tech journalists claim. So far, it has been exceptionally effective in only two applications: pattern recognition and discrete strategy games with a small set of rules (e.g. chess and go).
In every other application that has been tried lik auto-generated text, text interpretation, chatbots, recommendation algorithms it is very ineffective and you can see it for yourself.
The future is dark, alright. But for other reasons:
