The funny thing is, British authorities finally admitted it’s a shitty law. They admitted that it can be circumvented by VPNs. They admitted they only can apply it to commercial sites with at least 1/3rd pornographic material... meaning an oversight nightmare, and having kids continued to be subject to pornography on all kinds of sites including Jow Forums. They admitted it is a huge data protection risk. They admitted there are very easy ways to circumvent the license (not just with a VPN... but also by simply publishing a porn pass number online and having it in usd by multiplr people).
They admitted all that.. then said they stick with the law anyway. Why? Because it could “reduce the number of times kids accidentily access porn”.
Are British lawmakers just retarded? I thought our lawmakers are batshit stupid, but Brits really take the cake.
fucking retard, they're trying to censor the internet
Dominic Watson
They already have. Our politicians are directionless and will do whatever they want even if it makes no sense in a fictional reality. They move the goal posts: >porn ban and licenses was meant to have happened in 2017 There do as I say not as I do mentality has no limits.
Jonathan Jones
you better stop your gov plans to only post on the internet when you link your phonenumber to it
Thomas Stewart
All it is is another tax, another piece of legislation for the government to cheer and pat themselves on the back and say "look guys! we did something!". If you want to purge an infestation in the beautiful flowerbed you must uproot it all, find the cause and burn it to ash, lay the flowers in new soil and give them new life.
Landon Wood
>buy porn licences at the corner store >sell them to teenagers for 2x the price it’s a whole new market lads
Kevin Gonzalez
aw shiet my new source of income, bix nood

>Are British lawmakers just retarded? It's Theresa May's pet project m8. She panders to the 50,000 or so remaining Hardcore Fundie Christians left in the UK, the remnants of Mary Whitehouse's group in the 70s. All she has to do to keep their money coming in for her party is publicly demonstrate a website being blocked on the news and the old fogies who don;t know anything about computers will applaud.
It's not a series law at all, any more than the block on torrenting sites was. It was pandering to an IT-illiterate minority. Our beloved overlords in this country need us to consume pornography, it takes our minds off the deacy in male/female initmate relationships. The boys are jacking it in sandiego while the girls are hitting the wall and then the bottle.
>scotland yard knocks at the door >you put down your tea and baked beans and answer the door OI CUNT DID U PAY UR POSTING TAX? I NEED TO SEE UR PORN LOICENSE. ITS 20 YEARS IF U DON'T HAVE UR LOICENSE.
Wyatt Torres
>Are British lawmakers just retarded?
Yes. The idea that it's the left in Britain that's authoritarian and nanny-statist is a myth. It's always right wing and centrist parties.
This government and the last got in large part because they peddle the myth of competency and that they're the natural party of government. The reality the Tories have always been fucking idiots.
Aiden Collins
The point was to grow the government and bring it into everyone's phone and desktop. Porn was just the excuse
Jaxon Carter
Im with you on this one I think there is too much porn in the world. Take Jow Forums for example, because of constant exposure I cant stop thinking about sex and fapping, frankly its getting tiresome
Jason Garcia
The porn ban has been pushed back several times now, last time it was supposed to go into effect April 1, so there's no reason to think they won't push it back again. Even if it's implemented it will only effect normie sites like Pornhub. Literally a meme law.
Andrew Rodriguez
Its not about the Porn tho or pandering to christian boomers or protecting children. 1. its a testrun, if that system works they will expand it 2. it open new ways of taxation 3. if its a success they will expand this into other european nations
I know exactly why the date was pushed back further, it has a very simple technical background.
Its not a ban tho. You just have to pay 5 or 10 bucks for age verification to access the content. You think the average porn addict won‘t pay that?
Asher Barnes
I'm still not convinced it'll ever happen. It has been delayed half a dozen times now. It was only last month that they were adamant about it happening in April.
Cooper Gutierrez
It will happen, they are only behind the schedule because some of the tech isn‘t ready and because none of the submitted solutions are following their very strict rules. Right now they are at the application period.
William Watson
It's a good law. Fuck porn addicts and FUCK porn peddlers.
Camden James
>You think the average porn addict won‘t pay that? Who the hell would pay for porn?
James Garcia
>Implying porn shouldn't be outright banned It's Jewish trick, after all.
