The job market is shit mainly due to the lack of companies that we have (which is directly tied to our draconian labor laws). Since we have only a few companies willing to hire and millions of workers, these companies will only select the absolute best while everyone else will depend on being indicated by a friend to even have a chance of having a minimum wage job.
If we want so solve this, we need to bring more companies here and create incentives for people here to invest and/or become entrepreneurs.

I visited Brazil for a soccer trip in high school with one other buddy of mine. Went without parents and chaperones but they were sure to keep us in the compounds and not let us wander very far. They knew better than to let us have any sort of free reign whatsoever. Saw some sketchy parts of town, but didn’t witness anything too terrible. Food is dirt cheap. Women met the stereotypes. Very poor lifestyle outside of the richer areas though.
