It's part of being saved. If you were a parent, wouldn't you want that for your child? It's the first sacrament in life, and it's special because just like God gives you gifts, ideally it's a grace you receive from your parents. Confirmation can come when you're older.

Sinning after being "saved" means no faith. Repentance means to make a change. Jesus said you must be born again. When you repent, you must willfully sin no more. If you repent and then willfully sin again, its a fake repentance because you are not fully trusting Jesus. Trusting Jesus = believing that you will go to heaven when you die so worldly things do not entice you.

If you give in to worldly temptations/enticement after having repented, you have not repented.
