What happened was the Liberals thought it was over, The Obama administration was guaranteed to become the Clinton administration(Obama 2.0) and the republicans would cease to be relevant so they could push whatever wacky globalist PC culture they wanted. Regarding impeachment, she knows impeachment will only deliver more support for Trump. Impeachment helped Bill Clniton easily win reelection.
