When Russia invaded Ukraine and started simultaneously escalating its military presence in Northern Europe, NATO sent a small number of troops to the Baltics as a tripwire force.The troops rotate so at first, there were Americans, then Brits, Germans and now French troops. Estonia has done its share (pic related) so the French are just returning the favor.
