Alright, I’m gonna try to get my thoughts on the Zizek-Peterson debate down now.
First off, Zizek won. Hands down. No bias here, I actually disagree with Zizek on a whole bunch of points (I’m an ancom who thinks pc culture is actually good) . But he definitely blew JP out of the water. Peterson wasn’t prepared, and was clearly bullshitting. There were a lot of things Zizek said where you could tell Peterson was really thinking, although I don’t think he’ll change. Zizek did have some... problematic wordings. Downplaying lgbtq issues and going on an anti-pc rant at the end of the debate, namely. Otherwise, he did REALLY well. I do have some problems with the whole debate, because it places Peterson’s ideas on the same level as Zizek’s, leading more people to consider it. Overall, good debate, Zizek won (but wasn’t perfect), and Kermit choked.

As for the debate, it wasn't really a debate. Peterson fucked up firstly by presenting a narrow view of Marxism, but he did fine after that. Zizek pointed out flaws of capitalism but never really defended Marxism. Zizek tried criticising Peterson himself, and actually came off really bad by doing so. Peterson defended himself well, but shills are pretending like Zizek's criticisms weren't answered. They agreed on most things and not much happened. They were joking around and civil.

Peterson had the best point of the night in my opinion when he said that while Zizek is reasonable and can defend his positions, that people only use him and his victories to further not what Zizek preaches, but the exact brand of Marxism that is evil. He's just a tool to shift thought so insane people can push their murderous regime. So no matter how smart Zizek is, even if he schooled Peterson, this will happen.
I feel like I'm the only person who actually watched the debate. Literally everyone else is too stupid to understand or is shilling about what happened.
I haven't watched it but that's what I predicted. there's very little I would agree with Zizek on but he is a true intellectual with a coherent worldview. JBP is completely outclassed here.

Communism is dead, what only survives is marxism as a way of doing philosophy, and even that shows its limitations, and misleadings, those misleadings were denounced more clearly by Zizek than Peterson.
If you follow Zizek you'll realise that Marx is secondary in his later and more mature work. He went back to Hegel, and thus, in a "thesis on feuerbach" manner trying to support himself on Marx just to overcome the dicotomy "ideal/material".
