/etm/ - EARTH TO MARS

Welcome to the Earth To Mars General.
This thread is dedicated to the discussion of creating a European Colony on Mars, not by direct funding, but through the commercial emigration scheme that will eventually come into play.

The first large influx of settlers over the next 50 years are going to be families who can afford the ticket. Only people who can afford to move there will be able to.
let's face it - a strong European presence on Mars is the only way to truly secure our future.

>inb4 space is fake

>inb4 STOP LARPING
the short term goal of this general is to simply re-inspire each other on the subject of space exploration & colonisation. We hope to promote a new positive attitude towards life on Mars amongst those who value the future of the European peoples.

Cool. This is the sort of stuff the west should be funding

It's strange. I wonder if we will ever see Elon talk about this "coincidence".

It was interesting to find out he's not an atheist.

Ahh a dream to live on another planet, the only problem is the hebekikebergs will make it ridiculous to get there and they will bring niggers to ensure that there is "enough of a mix".

space is fake and gay, and so are you

>It was interesting to find out he's not an atheist.
I wasn't that surprised to find out he believes in a creator because of everything he has said about Sim Theory

>I wonder if we will ever see Elon talk about this "coincidence".
I would love to see him talk about it

He's into simulation theory which I oppose on philosophical grounds but like all sim theory people is against the AI takeover.
Government doesn't need to fund them, they just need better salemen and real products.

see

>Government doesn't need to fund them,

desu if your ZOG had given NASA the funding it needed after the moon landing, we would already be on Mars

I ve seen that Swastika Moon Base so maybe they have already been there to Mars, inner Earth Antartica base etc. Our civillised world is probably the dustbin they left behind and just leave us to it.

Not in our lifetimes outside of some fringe experiment. The planet's way too inhospitable. It barely has an atmosphere, shit gravity, no protection from solar radiation and it takes too damn long to reach. What would be the point living there if you had to stay in a space suit 24/7 or without one in some extremely cramped bunker? That's just misery, user. I get that it takes time to establish something bigger and better, but I just don't see it unless it's underground. In which case, we can easily do the same thing on Earth. Simply make a white only town somewhere or establish your own country on some shit island. For all intents and purposes it will fail the same way. Well, minus the deaths.

Simulation Theory implies that the world as we know it, including our own bodies, isn't real or is somehow corrupted.
First, this is just a computer science reinterpretation of ancient Gnostic Christian beliefs about the knowability of a veiled world compared to the truth of heaven. This is similar to the post-Protestant Protestantism of the modern Social Justice Warrior, people have a deep need to express these sentiments over and over.
Second, simulation theory implies nothing is worth doing because it's a simulation. This goes in multiple directions
>it's all a sim, nothing to live for
>it's all a sim, i refuse to cooperate with unknown masters
>it's all a sim, wishing is believing
and other nihilistic nonsense. If it's a sim, Elon should an hero and go for doubles. (it's not a sim and please don't an hero, we need you)
Simulation Theory implies the universe isn't what it appears to be, which is another argument for it's inherent religiosity.
On top of all that, it implies that there is some kind of AI or aliens or Flavor of the Month controlling or s(t)imulating us. This implies that AI is possible without being embedded in matter.
Y'all motherfuckers need some Stoic and Daoist literature.

Earth is doomed to be overrun with niggers. We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children among the stars.

>Simulation Theory implies that the world as we know it, including our own bodies, isn't real or is somehow corrupt
> simulation theory implies nothing is worth doing because it's a simulation.

This is not true and shows you have misunderstood Sim Theory and just how complex it is.

>the world as we know it, including our own bodies, isn't real or is somehow corrupt
No, Sim Theory only implies that this reality is not the original reality.

> simulation theory implies nothing is worth doing because it's a simulation.
No, for the same reasons as I said above.

It's just solipsism for nerds.

Honestly this. If things get worse here then we need a group of /ourguys/ on Mars to ensure the struggle continues.

Mars has a few known useful resources.
>water ice
>iron/nickel
>CO2
And one thing that if it's there changes everything.
>any life
Extant life means that Mars is a biomedical and biotech gold mine. It also puts off colonization, possibly forever.
>mmmm perchlorate fueled dienoccochus radiodurans that just love calcium in human bones

Attached: Crinoid Martian Fossil (1).jpg (356x378, 39K)

Instead of saying No, explain. Elon insists this isn't baseline reality. What is, and how is that determined?

>back to space
The #1 challenge in all colonization schemes is access to nitrogen as buffer gas, soil fixation and for industrial feedstocks. #2 is going to be access to Earth type bacteria, see what's happening as bacteria evolve in realtime on ISS. #3 is keeping people from killing each other in such confined spaces. #4 is the rest of the infrastructure and making money.

>Elon insists this isn't baseline reality

no, Elon insists that the chances of this being base reality are very slim (i can't remember the exact figure he gave but i think it was a 1 in billions chance of this being base reality)

If humans go extinct before being able to pursue Sim Theory tech, we will never know.

If humans decide not to pursue Sim Theory tech, we will never know.

If technology has a limit to how far it can advance, we will not be able to create Sim Theory tech.

If humans pursue Sim Theory tech and can create a virtual reality indistinguishable from this one then we will be confronted with the question "are we in one too?"

I like you user.

>Sim Theory tech
Ok, what is that? Does it display base reality? Give you root access to the computer? How can it be falsified?
>"are we in one too?"
Per my post, people have asked this question for millennia, probably since the invention of fire.

>Inb4 STPP LARPING
At first I thought this was a larp. Now I know it's legit. Godspeed o7

Just repeating what smarter people, including an actual Theologian interested in space and computers, have said or written.

What ever happened to the space elevator threads?

>Ok, what is that?

fuck if I know. I would assume a really, really, REALLY big fucking "computer".

> Does it display base reality? Give you root access to the computer? How can it be falsified?
I'm not sure what you mean

I don't know

How would someone test Sim Theory, and most importantly set up falsifiable conditions to be met against which this can be tested? This is basic science (and natural philosophy) that Elon and others interested in this have clearly missed.

Finally.
A non trash thread on Jow Forums I didn't have to start myself.

Wee lad

Angels on the head of a pin tier difficult. This is why it's no better than Gnostic hermits or stoners arguing over it.

Next issue: Identify all sources of nitrogen in the Solar System that aren't Earth's atmosphere.

>Angels on the head of a pin tier difficult. This is why it's no better than Gnostic hermits or stoners arguing over it.

I agree. And i'm not saying that I believe we are living in a simulated reality, im just saying I think Sim Theory is something that should be taken seriously.

This is why Stoicism and Daoism are so important. The thickest meathead and the most refined scholar can both understand the precepts. They are based in reality and produce positive if sarcastic results in reality.
>even if it sucks at least you are experiencing it
>do it now or don't do it
>ain't nobodies business if i do
>walk into the Forum with a plucked chicken and declare Here Is Your Man
Ok, since this keeps coming back. How does PHILOSOPHICAL BULLSHIT apply to space?
No matter other assumptions, early space development is dangerous, lonely, cramped and boring. If a person doesn't have guidance of some kind, they are going to break under these circumstances.
Typical colonization happens for commercial reasons, but often with a religious component. There are plenty of real and fictional examples. So if you are going to actual space, but don't want to be part of the Mormon Solution, you need something mentally to keep going.
Stoic, Daoist, maybe a little Rastafarian get along with a touch of American Mutualism and Quaker practices might be an answer that doesn't necessarily involve God, The Sim, The Conspiracy or killing natives to succeed.

Attached: vinegarTasters.png (839x597, 660K)

It's like time travel, telepathy or God. It doesn't actually effect your everyday life until someone proves it and someone else makes a device that does something with it.

Jews burned Notre dame:

Neck yourself.

The hermetics really nailed it with "As above, so below"
I think we'd need to make our own lower universe simulations to understand our own, and to confirm whether it is one in the first place.

When are they supposed to launch the colonists for mars?

I think spaceX are still on schedule for 2026

That's at least a place to start. Arguably we are doing that now.
Who are they?

spaceX want to do the cargo mission in 2024 and the manned mission in 2026. 2020 - 2023 they will conduct all the tests. One of the ships is already in production.

We can create fairly sized rockets as a prototype for our new rocket design and then scale up the size from there.

We can get the materials we need from junkyards by repurposing and reconstituting various metals and turning them into tools or parts that we need to create our rockets and space vessels with. We also need to come up with manufacturing methods to turn old used materials into usable materials.

Tubes that we use for fuel or oxygen will use faucet supply lines for ease of repair and every other part of the space vessels will use interchangeable parts that can be found at hardware stores.

Onboard computers can be designed by various anons and can be manufactured by chinks for the cheap.

Ground control isn’t that complicated either, but I can’t go too much into detail with communications because I’m not exactly well versed in that area.

I’m just spilling my thoughts at this point.

t.Black user majoring in computer science.

>ETM
This is too close to the porn category ATM

To add to that, we’d need:

-Welding materials
-Induction furnaces for processing used metals
-CNC and/or metal 3D printing machines
-Lathes
-Research labs for development of strong heat resistant composite materials.

The best builders are mestizos lead by Anglo Saxons. So obviously we must import maybe 1000 mestizos to start things off. We also need disposable security forces. A good chunk of our military are puerto ricans/niggers. So maybe important 2000 (1k PR, 1k niggers) as security led by obviously a man of anglo saxon origin. We also need a harem to keep the workers and security happy and to maintain MORALE, so we must import a few hundred asian sex workers. What do you guys think so far?

Yeah, like I wrote above, beyond optimistic. Exploration and settlement follow certain patterns. SpaceX needs to do things that only JPL can regularly accomplish before anything else — there's only ONE organization on Earth that regularly succeeds in orbital capture or EDL at Mars, that's JPL. SpaceX needs to at minimum be able to do an eccentric capture at Mars with anything before putting a 120 ton dropship on the surface.
Real patterns of exploration follow steps, look at how Antarctica and mountain climbing happens nows. Forward bases are established, expeditions mounted. If going for settlement, patterns include triangles of exchange.
>i want to retire on Mars
Is not nearly enough of a reason to make space sustainable.

bump desu

Same difference.

This. I like Mars a goal but it is no way optimal and all of Elon's dreams go away if there's extant life because LOL over 9000 Class Biological Isolation.
Building custom habitats in Earth and Solar orbit are where people are going to actually live in space. Custom gravity, custom environment, industrial heavy and low G, constant sunlight. Any habitat needs material from all over the inner solar system, why not build it the right way?
The only argument for planetary bodies besides resource access (which is going to be manserviced at best) is that there are certain places that have amazing views.

The sun will go out in the next hundred million years. If whites are to survive then we gotta move to other parts of space other then our solar system.

Any high powered infrared laser designs?

Attached: nanonave.jpg (1500x1500, 242K)

Future colonists will live on both planetary bodies, space stations, ringworlds, and artificial planetary bodies(see matriyoshka planets). There is no reason why everyone would autistically focus only on one thing especially with the upcoming cyborg/bio upgrades.

we're going to need huge honklers if we are to survive this

Attached: p7IKLO7.jpg (1080x1316, 464K)

>>triangles of exchange
>Explain pls.
Many colonization, settlement and power patterns of exchange involve multipoint, often triangle or three market, exchanges. If Mars or anything in space is going to work it is going to follow that pattern. This is like basic desert trading caravan logic or Atlantic slave trade:slaves for molasses for rum for slaves. It's not cool but it's the classic example.
A space example might be a company that skims Earth atmospheric nitrogen, trading N2 delivered at Mars for food bars shipped to a partner company on Ceres.
This relies on transportation being commercialized and available to multiple players. Then these patterns emerge.

>There is no reason why everyone would autistically focus only on one thing especially with the upcoming cyborg/bio upgrades.
This. Space citizens will be very mobile.

lack of gravity might be a problem

That's like 15 steps away.

I'm guessing you guys would know about this but does Elon have a legitimate twitter account? Please link me to it if he does.

If you know any space chicks you know those crazy eyes.

twitter.com/elonmusk

We're still fucked demography wise. We're not having enough children to populate on the long term our own land on Earth, let alone Mars or Space. Especially compared to other races.

Actually reminds me of Old's man war by John Scalzi (pretty good military sci-fi book, highly recommend it). Indians or the like of them are the one colonizing space with their families... while old white people on the verge of death on earth are used as soldiers in space to protect them from alien races and of course die in mass...
Always though it was a pretty good depiction of what space colonization would be if nothing changes for us noe.

>twitter.com/elonmusk
Is that really his true account? It's full of shitposts and it has an anime picture wtf.

make milkers great again
space is fake & gay btw

Attached: CruxoN2Xg.jpg (972x1296, 159K)

yeah its real lol

What's our first move?

why is economics bad? I don't want to live in a society that can't value one thing over another.

It will never be allowed for the same reason America won the war for Independence. Distance equals alack of control. A Martian colony could easily break free of the power structure. The global powers/satanists won't allow any nation or section of the human population to be free, the want complete dominion over mankind.

Start more space companies.
