I briefly worked for the Boy Scouts in their marketing department and the organization is goddamn joke compared to their former selves. Ever since they began the partnership with the Mormon organization, they started to see their quality in work and merit, especially when it comes to earning an Eagle rank, rapidly decline. Ofcoarse the reason why they wanted to bring in the mormons was because they started losing members and they ceded more and more control to the mormons over the years. When it was hinted that the Church of Latter-day Saints wanted to their own thing, the Boy Scouts started rolling out plans to add girls to organization to supplement the loss of membership. To give you an idea, every 6th Boy Scout was a Mormon.

The Boy Scouts don't even teach kids any useful skills either. Alot of the scout troops are dictated by mothers now and alot of them are anti-guns. Some of them don't even allow the kids to go fishing either. There are no hard or fast rules either when it comes to earning a badge. You can basically recite a paragraph about sewing and earn that badge.

They are glorified salvation army volunteers that go on camping trips once in awhile.
