Why Millenials aren't buying McMansions

>boomers put a lot of money into their shit homes in shit locations with shit decor
>unwilling to sell for less than they put into it
>millenials don't want their shit houses
>want small, affordable, uncluttered places
>NIMBY's won't allow it
>let multigen shitskins buy them!

Prove me wrong

What the fuck bros why did boomers fuck everything up so badly

Boomers really are the worst, hiding away I'm their copy pasted mcmansions protected by their gated communities while the world falls apart around them. They wasted their wealth and took advantage of the state all while voting in policies that brought in more and more immigrants and destroyed their culture. The boomer flower child let our schools become desegregated bringing down the value of education for the entire country. All the while they accuse the younger generations of being lazy and ungrateful.

Attached: images(17).jpg (186x272, 14K)

It's still the Central Banks.
A house cost 5000-20000 in 1913.

Dont let them confuse you.
Boomers were just lucky to aquire the real assets when the money was less devalued, therefore locking in the value, getting out of the inflation.
The price is now higher, the value the same.

You just earn less value today, tho the price(number) of your wage is higher - inflation in action.

why do you post retard questions, op?
and you post them everyday at that

Yes, it's the central banks. But it's not the wages devalued, they have pumped massive asset bubbles with cheap, temporary credit. That is what qe and low rates was all about. Inflation is wage inflation and commodity inflation but both of these have flat lined for well over a decade now. Central Banks have tried to prevent outright deflation by pumping these bubbles to make boomers feel good and borrow and spend more. When Central Banks lose control like they always eventually do, these credit bubbles unwind and asset prices correct. Throughout the whole of human history, the average house price has been around 3 or 4 times the average local salary no matter how fucked the economy or currency got. Now we have HP multiples in double digits. Classic bubble.

i would love to live in one for free

no job

jewmers

>Another boomer hate thread
Is this a new shill tactic

desu I try with all my heart not to hate them but it's so hard sometimes

The young people know buying massive house is a scam better to invest money rather than pouring into interest payments.

Millennials are worse

I want to live underground in a series of connected freight containers that have been turned into living spaces.

Attached: wuitad.jpg (634x415, 40K)

I literally just checked the local expat forum to see what foreigners were thinking of our economy going full venezuela and american boomers were shilling for bernie and cortez against drumpf.

They truly are a cancer for fucks sake.

A big beautiful yard with a big beautiful garden, or forests are better than any mansion or mcmansion. Being connected to nature itself.

millenials would have two dogs or 4 cats

You skipped Gen-X.

McMansion construction is a complete attack on modesty, quality, aesthetics and individual and cultural dignity. It’s the celebration of moral degeneracy, excess, greed, and rejection of any aesthetic experience or virtuous values. These Frankenstein constructions are the ultimate material projection of insecure, self-important and debased boomers. They are temples to debt slavery and consumerism.

No u

They dont mind. Whatever man.

land size > house size
its pretty fucking simple
nobody wants to live 5-10 feet from their next door neighbor
boomer were a bunch of cucks

Based burger

Attached: fortworth.png (1761x915, 3.81M)

you will die... shipping containers don't actually take being buried very well.

They collapse. Not rated for tons of dirt on top of them.

are you me

the real question here is why would anyone buy a mcmansion. they're fucking awful in every possible way.

I'm not sure... There's one way to tell, what is your stance on the Schliffen Plan?

Millennials:
>tiny meme house (could buy a bigger RV for cheaper)
>dogs or cats

Pic related is a proper mansion
McMansions are just cardboard and glue.

Attached: Maymont-mansion.jpg (800x532, 148K)

Shipping containers don't support weight very well. Trust me I looked into it already. Also they have to be cleaned and repainted because they are toxic.

I want a house in the middle of fucking nowhere.

I want a house with lots of green, living things nearby.

I want a house close to nature. I want quiet, and solitude.

I want to be able to wander in a beeline from my property in wilderness that could kill me if I don't respect it.

Smaller towns offer a better life. At least until I can be a space-faring cyborg starship captain.

Attached: Meirl.jpg (534x900, 180K)

French are lazy, Krauts are gluttonous.

doesn't everyone?

Boomers:
>Ugly McMansion built by illegals with cheap chinese materials
>Don't give a shit about the country as long as they can drive their gas-guzzlers to the local Showgirls

this. McMansions are made out of the cheapest materials, with illogical floorplans, offensively ostentatious facades, and make horrible use of the available square footage. Give me a good old American Craftsman or Victorian country home with wraparound porch any day.

Not rated for anything really, the roof is mostly there as a rain cover, you can feel it buckle as you walk across it.
You could however try to bury a regular container and a platform one on top of that, it should work if it's reasonably shallow and you don't mind the walls rusting through after a couple years.

Nah, 2 kids (for now) and living at my inlaws because boomers made all the apartments hud/section 8 and for some reason here you cant even live in the apartment building and actually pay full rent if you dont qualify for the free housing.

Saved and spreadpilled

No way in hell are Millennials worse than boomers. I don't know what the fuck it is about boomers but I honestly believe they're the shittiest people the west has ever produced. Theirs no denying it.

I love you

True.

>millenials don't want their shit houses
>want small, affordable, uncluttered places
No one wants small places. People only "want" them out of necessity.
Everyone wants to live like the boomers did, but simply can't afford to.

I see this rhetoric being pushed over here pretty hard.
>Millenials don't want big homes so we build these little ratholes that start from 300k.
What's also being pushed is the idea that Millenials don't drive cars. What this has led to is the newly built homes lacking parking spaces.
Or course in reality people do want cars, especially when living anywhere outside the city center. Result is that people don't buy the newly built homes because they're small and lack places for cars.

Entire situation is fucked globally.
Younger generations aren't buying homes because they can't afford them and the older ones aren't selling because they're neck deep in debt and can't afford to sell for any lower. Not that they would even if they could.
On top of this the newly built homes are absolute cancer. Not only are they expensive as fuck, but they are following the new green leaning building codes, so they lack places for cars and try to push the idea that you only need public transport.
I can't wait for this house of cards to crash and burn. Which it will do and we're going to see the prices plummet like a motherfucker over the next 10 years.
Prices here are already starting to show weakness and builders are getting fucked as the new homes aren't selling.

We unironically had a neighborhood full of student accommodation in the form of 23m2 containers.

boomers are the niggers of generations

you don't say?

wow finland sounds like a shithole

Adopt the urbanism of Tokyo or Amsterdam, with the housing system of Singapore. Ignore amerifatts, old people, and nimbys. Tax gasoline, cars, raw sugar, and white flour. Do all that and America is fixed.

God I hate particle board.

it's oriented strand board/osb

This is a fucking lie. What kind of brainlet loser believes this shit?

People aren't buying mcmansions a hundred miles from cities yeah, but those have always been cheap.

As someone looking for a 'McMansion' within 20 miles from city, you're looking at 500k+ homes, massive appreciation over the past few decades

And I live in a low cost of living southern state. These homes on the West Coast or North East would easily approach millions.

It's still glued together wood chips.
Also known as particle board.

>boomers: big house with two kids
true for me
two teenagers
5 bedroom house - my wife and i a h use a bedroom for an office
it’s nice having some private space when you share a home with 3 other people, even if they are your family

btw
we have a large hous, but it was built in 1910
not really a McMansion

>What kind of brainlet loser believes this shit?
>you're looking at 500k+ homes
are you a nigger who won the lottery? what a shit option

Attached: vO7lRZ7.png (621x702, 56K)

It's true that no one wants to build small houses anymore.

You have to MAXIMISE PROFIT. It's gotta be BIGGER. It's gotta be MORE EXPENSIVE. It's an INVESTMENT.

It's a fucking nightmare.

I live in an area that used to have hundreds of really small affordable vacation cabins. Now every single vacation cabin is being bulldozed and a fucking micro-mansion put in its place. It's revolting.

I want a small affordable house that's easy to maintain, low taxes, easy to heat, etc. It's never going to happen. They don't exist. You need 5 bedrooms 4 bathrooms 3 kitchens.

It's really frustrating.

>inb4 build your own house

Where I live new construction is expensive as hell. So many permits, so many hidden costs, there's no way to keep the total bill low. The only thing you can do is hope to buy one of those old vacation cabins and fix it up, but there are bidding wars on them because the developers know they can bulldoze them and put up something huge and some rich fool will buy it as an investment property and probably rent it out.

Reminder to put your boomer parents in a nursing home run by blacks.

>finish college
>have a job
>just keep putting money in the bank, never spending it
>boomer father says I can probably make a down payment on a house
>where?
>the suburbs are boring sprawled out shitholes like explained
>the cities are crime ridden and dead broke from government pensions
>living in the boonies I might as well join the Amish
>and everything is overvalued
I legitimately could not find a place I wanted to live in the entire United States. Now I live in Japan.

When it comes to prices, taxes and living expenses this place is one of the worst on the planet.
One reason why I'm going to leg it the moment my skillset allows me to work abroad.

The new homes here are soon impossible for people to buy.
To qualify for a 300k loan you need to make 5k after taxes. Problem is that over here it's nearly impossible to find people who make 5k even before taxes.
Most salaries fall between 2000-3500 and after taxes they're left with almost the same amount.
You need two people who make at least 3500 a month to even be considered for a loan for the 300k home, which is the bare minimum worth buying if you're looking at a new one.
Problem with buying older cheaper homes is that the ones that are affordable are from the 70-80s and need to have costly maintenance like fixing the pipes done, and that's easily +40k to the purchasing price. Taking the old home prices too close to the 30 years younger ones.
You can't even live outside the cities because the counties are quite literally dying as the only people left there are some old folks. Everyone else lives in the few big cities we have.

Pic related is what's going to happen again, because this is unsustainable as fuck.
We had a huge bank recession in the early 90s. That shit will repeat on a global level. 08 was absolutely nothing in comparison to what we're going to see go down when this economic clusterfuck pops.
There's going to be retarded cheap real estate on the market when we hit the bottom.

Attached: Home prices Finland.png (754x566, 57K)

What? I don't have any options for ~3k sq ft homes in the area for less than 500k..

Are you paid in dollars on yen or both?
Do you have any investments (like IRA) in USA?

Ours are filled with spics.

They're the bastard children of some pretty monumental super PTSD. It's a bit difficult to explain but there is a ton of documentation if you can get passed the boomers publishing crap about themselves. See, imagine you're boomer parents? Your old man probably fought or had something to do with WW1. He comes home fucked up. Then you yourself were probably super fucking young when the depression hit. Then you and your parents work hard to get back on your feet and get things going again and then right after you do that then fucking bam, WW2 hits. You either go off to war or become a part of the war effort because fucking everybody was. You "win" the war and you come home and you fuck like jackrabbits and you birth a huge generation and through the 50's everything is fucking awesome and you're feeling fucking great because you're the fucking alpha dog. But there's some strange undercurrent that you're just ignoring. Then your kids get a bit older and the whole counter culture thing happens and they start rebelling against your shit. And you're like, "wait...what the actual fuck are you doing?" I mean, for God's sake, all you've known is your parents generation going through shit and you've gone through even more shit. But you fucking worked hard to help your parents pull out of it and then, on top of that, you went overseas to fight a world fucking war to give your kids a fucking awesome life and, God damn it, you fucking do give them an awesome life. Literally everything fucking anyone could ask for. And then these ungrateful fucks have the audacity to tell you it's not fucking good enough? They have the audacity to tell you that your way is the wrong way? You survived the depression. You survived a fucking world war. They're gonna burn their draft cards because so they can stay home and get a degree in communism? Like, are you fucking kidding me? I mean, how the fuck would you feel?

Now, you may read that and be like, "oh he hates boomers." But, the truth is, they were under enormous pressure. Enormous. And they acted out. Like all kids who act out, they fucked everything up. They'll never admit it, but they did. But, in a way, I almost don't blame them. It's sad, really. It's like in Field of Dreams, when Ray Kinsella laments that the last thing he said to his Father before he died was something about how his favorite baseball player was a criminal. That's the boomer relationship with their parents, in a nutshell.

Yen. I'd make more money living in the states, but I don't need money, I need safety, privacy, and a good, aesthetic neighborhood in a convenient location. I don't even need a car here, public transportation is so reliable and clean. I live close to Kyoto and my apartment is bigger and cheaper than any city I ever lived in America.

I have some long term investments that a firm keeps an eye on for me, and I have most of my savings kept in a credit union where it appreciates much more than it would in a bank.

good.

No those are millennials retard

Decent analysis, but don't forget the boomers trusting the media 100%.

Boomers are the sons of the vets, not the vets. The "baby boom" was the boom of soldiers having as many kids as possible after surviving the war. Your analysis is accurate but it's about the people who raised the boomers. Most boomers were probably abused and mistreated by their parents because they were suffering from massive ptsd

Yea but what are you going to do for retirement, man?

Nah, it is a 3:2 live to dead cat ratio.

Nobody factually cares about fucking gen-X, they are useless, mindless drones for the most part.

Attached: 1487563082067.jpg (661x659, 442K)

Boomers will sell these homes to foreign Indians and Chinese and pol will defend it because muh capitalism

>2019
>being a class cuck

Spot on.
Clown World HONK HONK

I never understood the appeal of a bunch of space. You can only occupy so much space at one time.

JOE NOOOOO

Nice the have adapted to living in a box and grown to like it

Gen x mass suicided

If you thought the boomers were bad, wait until we're done.

Australia is completely fucked by the real estate market.

I mean shit, what's the difference if I shitpost from a mansion or from a shoebox?

technically both fall under "fiberboard" but OSB is for construction and particle board (aka low density fiberboard) is the stuff ikea furniture is made of.

But it was the boomers that put a lot of the "safety nets" up in the United States to where only they will benefit from them while future generations flip the bill. Down the road all of these safety net government programs are going to be gone and the boomers are the only ones that would have benefited from it. While the country is dying because of their terrible government and business decissions the boomer train of though is literally "let future generations pay for it" or "I'll be dead soon so I don't care". On top of all of this do you blame the millennial generation or the baby boomer generation that helped raise them. Wouldn't that make the boomer generation the original nigger generation, the generation that killed American through failed policies, and the generation of greed all in one.

Attached: boomers.jpg (480x360, 38K)

My long term investments will cover that. Every year I put another couple thousand dollars into more investments. I'll be able to retire in my late 30s if I don't have kids. But I'm not planning on retiring that early.

If anybody has seen a boomer irl, you'd know they're so self centered and clueless it's technically insanity.
It's narcissism and they all tend to be affected by it to some degree

He started from the perspective of the WW2 vets.

>"let multigen shitskins buy them!"
You mean:
>"Let multigen shitskins move in from Bumbfuckistan while the government buys it for them with a high-interest loan from the bank!"

As A Millenial I disagree I really want a large house.

Attached: House 1.jpg (1000x669, 391K)

I work with boomers and they live with blinders on. I don't know if it's willful ignorance or what but they live in this tiny little bubbles and act like heroes. They consider themselves hardworking and honest but I haven't met a group of people more willing to sell out their peers for even the most minute of advantages.

Good, boomer shacks are degenerate

Nope, you're talking about section 8 'housing' and mcmansions will never qualify for that

mihomes.com/new-homes/florida/orlando-metro/orlando/estates-at-lake-pickett/grandview-fl-plan

I just bought one of these. Not in that neighborhood though. Have 4 kids and need the space.

Does it qualify as a McMansion? The floorplan is pretty nice.

Last house I owned was half the size but went up nearly 2x in value before I sold the fuck.

If this one goes up I will sell it and move to the middle of nowhere.

I want something comfy, aesthetic, affordable and I actually utilize.

Attached: cute.jpg (600x400, 95K)

That is a textbook example of a Mcmansion

The difference is, that's an actual house, not a Disney folly.
