Mark 9:45-50 KJV
45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:
48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
49 For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.
50 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.
Alright here is a hellfire and brimstone Sermon from Jesus and and Jesus says that the fire is good. That everyone will be salted with fire. And every sacrifice will be salted with salt.
Jesus is quoting Isaiah let us look up the passage Jesus is quoting .
“And they fare forth and see the corpses of the mortals, the transgressors against Me, for their worm shall not die, and their fire shall not be quenched, and they become a repulsion to all flesh” Isa 66:24.
notice that the fires of hell do not torment forever but kill the victim. They turn him to ash.
People get hung up and say well the bible teaches that hell if forever, but that is dependent on the translation you use. Bible translaters do not want to rock the boat so they translate the greek words aion and aionios as forever when they can also be translated as an age.
biblehub.com/greek/165.htm
age (20), ages (6), ancient time (1), beginning of time (1), course (1), eternal (2), eternity (1), ever* (2), forever (27), forever and ever (20), forevermore (2), long ago (1), never* (1), old (1), time (1), world (7), worlds (1).
the same words they use for forever they also translate as world or age
