Give me the actual truth, no bullshit. There are some forms of depression that can't be cured or treated, right?

Some people are just doomed to never be happy, right?

Everyone is full of bullshit.

You can cured it, but is hard

John 14:6 ESV
Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Matthew 28:18-20 KJV
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. [19] Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: [20] Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

John 3:16 KJV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Yes. Have you truly tried to treat it with with a psychiatrist? If you haven't then this thread is more of a shitpost than anything

tell me about your life OP

It depends. If you have a brain chemistry imbalance then it is incurable. It's possible to treat the symptoms with psychoactive medication, but psych meds can ruin your brain chemistry.

So if you already have it, you have nothing to lose, take the meds. But if you're misdiagnosed and take the meds as a healthy person - you will destroy your brain chemistry.

Think very long and very hard about whether you want to risk it. Is your existence meaningless even when things are going well? Or are things just going bad - for now. Do you have a history of drugs & alcohol?

Reboot everything, have a fresh start somewhere else, everyone can be happy.
If you are not, you are in the wrong place with the wrong people.

Everyone is depressed in a society like this user
so yeah some folks can't be fixed, because for them to be fixed, they need society to be fixed.
That being said, someone not trying to change the thing that saddens him, deserves to be sad and wither away. Change society if you truly can't take it anymore, change it any way you wish and require and need and if society tells you it doesn't want to change like this or that, spit in her failing face because she's the one that hurt you and made you sad. So hurt her, until she's right for you, and break her, so she won't change for someone else. Unhappiness is a choice.

i'm afraid there is
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treatment-resistant_depression

>everyone can be happy
Does this include mentally ill people suffering from incurable anhedonia?

Please keep bro-tier advice to yourself. OP is asking a medical question.

Depression is a symptom of your condition and cannot be cured with therapists or pills. Do you have these five things in your life?

> God
> Family
> Friends
> Work
> Hobbies

If not then this is the reason for your depression.

What vices do you have? Eliminate these. Vices are typically your addictions, e.g.

> drugs
> alcohol
> porn

A man has as many masters as he does vices. As John says,

>Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

God bless

you can be addicted to a certain kind of sadness - gotye

There are also some people who blame society to the degree that they do not believe ANYTHING is wrong with their attitude and we need to destroy capitalism / genocide browns / return to primitive life / load up on nootropics and be AnCap etc

But in reality, they're extremely depressed, anxious and in denial

I cured mine by forcing myself to go out, to push boundaries, to get a new job as a waiter, to always say yes when people invite me to something.
Consistently, for a year. I managed to get to periods of true happiness, months at a time sometimes.
These days I'm stuck in a rut from doing an office job phd, so I'm depressed again, I know I need to start pushing myself again.

There are cases of depression where the patient actually does have something wrong with their brain and fail to produce enough serotonin or dopamine. Most people who are diagnosed with depression these days are depressed for reasons outside of this (relationship issues, unfulfilling career, lack of direction, loss, etc).

Neither one is doomed to never be happy. Even if you're one of the rarer individuals out there who were born with a screwy brain, a combination of antidepressants and cognitive behavioral therapy is proven to work.

Try to remember that happiness is not the default state of anybody. Your brain floods itself with happy chemicals when you've done something that warrants it. To assert that happiness is just how a functional human experiences the bulk of everyday life would be absolutely insane.

Stop being addicted to serotonin and unbalancing its receptors, study, draw or write something instead

No, I don't think depression can be cured, but it can always be treated. You're noot doomed, you can have moments or even long periods of happiness, but your depression will never go away.

>stop being addicted to serotonin, do activities that increase serotonin
