Kinda figured. A lot of the other dissident groups are like that, and in ways are worse than the shinners, like Eirigi. Of all of them Republican Sinn Fein seem to be the least bad of them, they don't seem as in favour of a lot of left wing shit that some outside backers want to push.

I can see merit in that, I'd prefer them to the others in the Dail and Stormont.

You can probably pin that down to them not doing anything politically as they don't recognise either jurisdiction on the island and only get the rare local councillor elected. They also don't seem to be involved with the IRA or similar groups these days either, which is the only other way to push your aims, those two combined make them seem more incompetent and inactive.
