Crime rates fluctuate with circumstances. National circumstances have somewhat improved with increased policing and surveillance that makes it difficult to get away with crime, so a reduction has been seen in every race. The most criminal blacks join our prison population and are much less able to commit crimes.

There are some, sure. However, if you'd been through undergrad engineering you would have noticed something important. See, affirmative action can't push poor students through the program. It can dump them in to first year but after that they're on their own (at least for the time being). So, first year you get your diverse field of students who don't belong. Second year you arrive to find 60% of them have flunked out or changed majors to something easier. Third year that remaining 40% is trimmed down to about 5% or less. That 5% usually go on to graduate without issue. Head in to grad school and there are no affirmative action students left. Not in engineering anyway.
