Do you actually think sustenance farming is better? Have you ever tried farming with hand tools, natural fertilizer, no modern seeds? Have you at least tried to plant a garden? Yes, my family always used cow manure as fertilizer, and reused seeds from previous harvest, the only non-natural part is using a tractor with some type of attachment to dig out the soil in the garden few times a year.
