People think they have power as an employee

This country is fucked when the boomer bubbles burst.

I’m worried about that, too. I wonder what safeguards, if any, are being implemented to lessen the blow. Knowing the American private and public sector, they will probably act surprised and beg for tax dollars when it blows up.

ya alberta has some fucked up business owners

you need to learn to leverage you influence and closely manage the energy you put into your work. if something is too much effort or above your self-determined paygrade, refuse to touch it or, because you're a fearful employee with no record or reputation to lean on, ensure its not dealt with properly and that it gets passed up the chain. don't do management's work. focus on your own.

it's all a game. play well and be rewarded. employees who think hard work will pay off are in the wrong game. that kind of attitude only works if you are self employed.

>op thinks he has power as a leaf

You could douse it in gasoline and set it alight. What are they going to do? Feed, clothe and house you for the next 10-15 years?

Attached: ralph pyromaniac.jpg (480x360, 21K)

Those of us with careers and paid off homes don't really worry about this.

You people don't understand, this is why boomers want small businesses to be a thing. They want more decentralization of the market.

But you idiot gen x/y/z/a don't understand this. So you work for centralized businesses owned by the "boomers" that are keeping everything afloat.

The only "boomer bubble" is the bubble that keeps everything running. It is not because they have money or capital, it is because they are the ones with the work ethic to make shit happen.

People who willingly work for these types think they have to work there because there is no where else, but that is not true.

When the boomers pass, GEN X will attempt to keep everything running, but because their employee pool is limited to millennials and zoomers, it's going to crash. UNLESS they resort to robotics. Which seems to already be happening.

You people were far too spoiled, and instead of copying what the boomers did, you instead pouted and demand and easier life and more free stuff.

Don't you see? This is your punishment for being spoiled, and there is no getting out of it unless you start a conservative lifestyle and start working for yourself.

>.t Millennial that is near 100% self-sufficient.

>work ethic to make shit happen
are you talking about the same people who collect $140k salaries but don't know how to rotate a pdf

Eat shit, Boomer.

Fuck off.

this is one of those satire jokes isn't it?

B A S E D. Worse part is the fact that Boomers keep such eazy zoomer jobs with seniority which buttfucks em because companies abuse it to pay them cheaper.

I've never seen this in the work place. Whoever wrote that is just a bad boss and asshole. Actions like his are how you get employees to be spiteful enough to start burning shit.

Yes. Yes I am. Think about how dumb you have to be that instead of making your own business you work for someone who doesn't know basic things on the computer.

I'm a millennial, that wasn't raised spoiled. Eat shit stereotypical millennial/zoomer. You reap what you sow.

Lmao, get fucked for working for a centralized business.

The problem is clearly self correcting.

So what you're saying is labor is cheap and now is the perfect time to start a business thus making you more money and helping increase the value of labor across your nation?

Oh, no? You're not saying that? You're saying that it's like totally unfair and everyone needs to change and someone else needs to do something about your problem?

My mistake.

>Manager makes $200k/year
>Doesn't know how to set up a meeting in outlook

In the trucking industry the company is lucky to have YOU

The fact that you people work for these people instead of starting up your own business makes my point.

You millennials that make us other millennials look bad deserve everything you get.

Bet that employer would be shocked when the shooting starts, wondering how this could happen isn’t everybody so THANKFUL?!

There's a hundred codemonkeys waiting in the lobby for that chair. Don't like the work conditions? Go elsewhere. Don't want a boss? Start your own business.

Anything but your incessant fucking whining about how "it's not fair!" pout snort cry.

Fucking spoiled rotten little bitches. Every single one of you.

Yours truly,
Gen-X

You guys should read some of the office stories at Jow Forumsjobs on reddit. Their souls are being ground down with a cheese grater but they still smile and take it up the ass.

Anymore excuses? It won't matter, the fact that "good" millennials had no problem with "barriers to entry" and the bad ones are still pouting only shows that "those" millennials never had the drive to succeed at all.

Mind you, while the Gen X and what's left of the boomers are looking towards automation, it is us "good" millennials that are the ones making it. We plan on automating all the "bad" millennials jobs away. I believe that millennials will be the ones to fix the millennial problem.

>some faggot spent at least fifteen minutes writing all of that shit on the board

Better to be your own boss than someone else's.
It's not easy at the start. Stay with it.

Explain what you intend to do with a generation of unemployed, disaffected, well armed young men?

t. spoiled millennial brat having a tantrum because it always worked with mommy

Fucked by freedom, maybe.

Language. You're going to be a wage-slave forever with that attitude.

>hard work will pay off
the only thing hard work pays off in is making you being a better and better slave that management/owners will pile on even more work onto. the funny this is all the BS they teach college students in American Colleges about corporate social responsibility and being valued, etc is the stark opposite to how things operate in most of the working non academic corporate world.

being grateful is one of the keys to having a good life. look around at people who have lives you admire, then ask them to tell you about gratefulness.

Some of you millennials remind me of soldiers in the military who stay in for life.

You got training and experience, and instead of getting out and working or making for yourself, these soldiers stay in working for shit pay under a contract that treats them like servants/slaves.

There's two types really,
>those who will stay in as an enlisted for 20 years and retire thinking they came out on top while their body is worn out and destroyed.
>those who get out and work for private contractors or for themselves, have more money, can still "retire" early due to their savings, or can keep working for themselves because their bodies weren't ruined.

Some of y'all won't ever listen, I can understand that, but HE WHO HAS AN EAR LET HIM HEAR (or he who can read let him read in this case!)

This.
I used to work for a non-profit. My entire dept was boomers. I was regarded as the dept's resident "computer expert" because I knew how to do things like copy-paste text by highlighting it and pressing Ctrl+V in another document. No, I'm not exaggerating.

You hurling insults at everyone will not change the fact that there is a significant barrier to entry to starting a business nowadays in many industries. The argument you keep smugly repeating can just as easily be used to shame farmers in the middle ages for not becoming feudal lords - after all, if some can do it, clearly they're just too stupid and lazy to become one themselves.

I'm actually fairly well off myself, but you're so wrong it's hilarious. Don't worry though, I know you're just baiting.

I am not saying to become some sort popular business "feudal lord", I am saying to stop working under a "feudal lord" and then proceed to complain about said "feudal lord".

What's more you are in Germany, your welfare state is so insane I can't tell if you are an actual German or a welfare refugee.

Yeah Bill Gates never had a feel for computers.

>just start your own business bro
never mind the statistics that the majority of all small businesses within the U.S. fail within the first 1-3 years.
>it's OK bro just loss everything and then try again it's so easy

wanna place a bet on him knowing how to rotate a pdf in 2019? Also, programmers often don't actually know that much about shit the don't specialize in--ESPECIALLY the very successful ones. Gates couldn't write "hello world" in a modern programming language without guidance. If you knew anything about programming, you'd already know this.

Now he's having a go at the military. Get fucked buddy.

no dude, it's real

it's from 2016 though, this is one of those "comrade" threads that leftypol makes

>I can't tell if you are an actual German or a welfare refugee.
The fact that you cannot seem to connect the mass migration boomers and co. orchestrated with the possibility of an increase of pressure on workers in the labor force is mind-boggling

>Just work for someone else as a wage slave bro
>Why isn't it fair bros!?
>It's okay bro, just work for your master everyday while you don't have time for a family or to raise your son, just keep doing that and complain on the internet about your situation, it's easy just being a wagey!
Literally willful slavery at this point.

It's not about knowing the steps by heart, but about figuring it out. Wanna bet hiroshimoot's shekelshack that Bill Gates could figure out how to rotate a pdf?

>making a company is easy in the US or Canada

capital requirements are massive to make a company, no millennial has access to that kind of cash and banks don't do business loans to millennials simply because we're deemed too immature by the culture.

>>it's OK bro just loss everything and then try again it's so easy
look at how many times successful ppl fail before they hit on something that works. poor ppl stay poor because they use the exact rationalizations that you're using now. Thing is, most of them aren't smart enough to see their way out of it--are you? Also, you can start many businesses without any real overhead except your computer/internet.

I started my company when I was living in my car, coding on library computers. it takes grit, and not rolling over and dying at the first sign of adversity. if "making it" was easy, everyone would do it. You have to be determined to not accept failure. You have to believe in your vision the way backwoods muslims believe in allah.

I was military, I didn't stay in. I still look at some of my buddies that are still in and their bodies are falling apart and I always ask, "why would you stay in? Your MOS pays extremely well in the private sector?!"

I have no problem with the military, I have a problem with lifer-dogs that don't continue to improve.
Did you know that they use to kick out E4 who didn't progress to the next rank after so many years? They don't do that much anymore.

Surely you mean owner's.

I'd bet he could, just as almost all the boomers making 140 k could. it was good bantz, but not factual. meanwhile, I don't think the complainers here would have the grit to do the equivalent task at the same age and pay grade.

Not that massive, especially considering the fact that some millennials have no issue getting over $100k in loan debt for an "education" and never utilizing it to the max.

People live too lavishly these days, I really am grateful I grew up in a poor hard working family. If I grew up in the suburbs I fear I'd have the mentality that some of you have here, and I'd probably be miserable working somewhere due to financial slavery.

Also I want to say that I don't believe you.

There are so many "muh bootstraps" faggots on this board that never post any evidence that they are successful or even have a business, and providing that evidence isn't that hard.

Show me a screenshot of your gitlab server or something, anything, to make me believe you aren't just another NEET faggot shilling cryptocurrency on Jow Forums and pretending to be Gordon Gekko

checked
I started programming cheap websites, basically teaching myself php/mysql along the way. ended up finding a niche in the real estate market writing apps for agents to connect rapidly to the MLS data stream (this was just before zillow got big). Since loans were hard to get for young ppl, there was an opportunity to get into the "hard money" lending for home-buyers, concentrating in wealthy markets that are more recession-proof. This was all during the downturn--there are always opportunities if you keep your eyes open. Do good work, and your customers will love/reccomend/rehire you. Come up with new (expensive)ways you can serve them. I did the first half of this while living in my car and not owning a computer for the first 3 mos.

that sound like MLM to you, or intelligence and grit?

money for student loans and money for a business are two different things and you can't spend money from a student loan on making your own company.

>People live too lavishly these days, I really am grateful I grew up in a poor hard working family. If I grew up in the suburbs I fear I'd have the mentality that some of you have here, and I'd probably be miserable working somewhere due to financial slavery.

No, that's bullshit. Our money isn't worth anything is the problem. 97% reduction in real buying power since 1910. Anybody working for Bitcoin in 2010 would be a multimillionaire if they'd saved even 1/10 of what they earned on a median wage.

I've pitched to numerous VCs for both B2B and B2C companies. I know what EBITDA, I know what a cap table is, I know exit strategies and I know who's in the market to buy companies and why.

Yeah because the majority of people are dumb cattle who deserve to be herded by their betters. If you lack the skills and knowledge to separate yourself from the chaff, what right do you have to complain about your lot in life?

what would count as "evidence" to you? I was kicked out of my home out of nowhere by my ex wife. My parents are great, but they lived 2 states away, were already hosting my dead-beat sister/her husband/her kids, and I needed to be near my children and near the courts to fight for access to them.

I wrote this here in 2015:
As a divorced and remarried dad, let me interject something about so-called "deadbeat dads:"

A woman can fuck you up in court. I see my little ones 4 days / month, and am fighting for more access as we speak. It's expensive as fuck to buy justice. Luckily for her, she has lots of my money, my house, etc. to fund her defense when she does stupid shit like abduct them for weeks. So far, she's gotten away with this.

Second, not saying it's right, but it would be so much easier to just let her have them. She makes it difficult in every way--from threatening to send me to jail if they are even a little bit late on return from visitation, to constantly petitioning the court to look deeper into my finances. If I simply turned "deadbeat," I could do my best to forget my little ones until they were old enough to decide for themselves. As a father, you really have to write off everything you thought would be as far as raising and being with them. You have to count what little you do have as a plus rather than everything you lost as a minus, because it will burn you out into a husk.

Every time I see them, it's like ripping stitches out of a bullet wound that is desperately trying to heal.

Fuck women, and fuck the family court system.

Attached: divorce01.jpg (552x896, 139K)

It's real, the company is backpedalling like shit from it.
But yeah, even if you were a pragmatic as fuck business owner, it makes no sense to show this message in all honestly. You run the risk of demoralizing your workers or maybe start a strike worst case scenario. And the PR scandal you'll have. Yeah, you can fire them all and get new people, but that's a huge amount of work and training you have to do.
There's no good reason to send this message. It's fine if you think this internally, but fuck sakes, don't let them know.

>You people were far too spoiled, and instead of copying what the boomers did

What? Paying for tuition with a summer job, landing a job right out of college and buying a house with it? Man we're so stupid that we didn't just do that.

Funny post, OP.
We all know that no employee has an obligation to do what their boss demands if they don't want to do it. If your job requires you to do things that you're uncomfortable with, you have the moral responsibility to quit that job and boycott their products and services, and to tell everyone you know about how awful the place is so that they lose even more business.

Anything less is slavery.

I knew you were in something like programming and not starting your own HVAC or window cleaning business LMAO. You should be clearer about being your own boss and how the sort of success you talk about only applies to niches (your words) more specific than owning a food truck.

>what I wrote stands.
But you wrote nothing in your conversation with me except for what you just admitted was bullshit.

I get what you and the other user in here are saying though. I just think you're being naive to think that everyone can be like you, or like successful business owners or like whoever you want to use as role model. I already know that I'm going to be doing well for myself - I'm trying to build something up myself and even if I fail, I have a degree in a field where demand highly outweighs supply so I'll have no problem making a good living being employed somewhere. However, I am under no illusion that someone who maybe didn't do so well in school, maybe isn't the best with money or simply isn't the brightest person or best leader, has the same security or chances as me. Those people are human too and need a productive way of structuring their life and contributing to society. Having all businesses mistreat their employees and then laughing at them for not being able to build something from nothing while living in debt and poverty is not a good way to structure society.

"If X can do it, so can everyone" is just not a solid argument. It's the same as with countries - why doesn't the US just do what Switzerland is doing? Why isn't Japan just doing what Singapore is doing? Why isn't Russia just doing what UAE are doing? Why isn't Germany just doing what Norway is doing? The fact is that you can't translate these tiny nieche economy countries that rely on banking, trade, oil, etc to large scale countries. They're just different entities. Not everyone can be Switzerland. And not everyone can be a business owner.

Attached: 1464146679444.jpg (600x818, 64K)

This right here. There's just no work ethic these days. Back when I graduated high school I had to work 40 hours a week for an ENTIRE YEAR to buy my first investment home. I just kept putting in my 40 a week until my buddies acknowledged my work ethic and moved each other up the chain.

Now we do our best to boss these entitled millennials into making something of themselves, but they refuse to sweat even a little bit for $7.25/hr. Do you know how many investment homes those wages would have bought back in the day? It's like they're allergic to money! You would think those four year degrees would have taught them some commitment to work!

screenshot of your bank account

I don't give a fuck what your background is, you're talking big shit and not backing it up- getting married is a bad business decision and anybody who makes that kind of decision isn't fit to build and maintain a business.
