Same as communism. It doesn't necessarily put the country or people first which is my main interest.
The ideas of private enterprises, entrepreneurship, private property, competing products etc. is fine. But there should absolutely be many regulations in place which protect the moral decency and culture of our nations.
Social welfare is also fine if your country is homogeneous or only given to the natives.

One of the biggest problems we have currently for example is companies use advertising that brainwashes us or normalises degenerate behaviour, all in the pursuit of selling more. That has to end.
Another problem is that without government intervention, they will sell you a whole lot of shit and get away with it. Take America for example, where almost all honey is just high fructose corn syrup. At least the EU places a regulation that requires that at least the majority of sold honey is real. This of course all extends far beyond honey and is just one example.

So in general, capitalism is fine. Unregulated capitalism is disastrous for nations and people.

There was no problem with the merchant class as long as there was another class to look down on them (i.e. nobility). Now that the merchant is the most powerful being, wealth is the standard by which merit is assessed. Which leads to a materialist view of the world, on which both commies and capitalists agree on.

They don't "dominate" finance or banking. They are overrepresented largely due to circumstantial and historical reasons like you've indicated, but the idea that they "dominate" banking and finance is false.

Also, the prescription against usury, which is what you're talking about, ended quite a while ago and was never as rigorously enforced as is commonly believed. It was sort of like the contemporary laws that are supposed to prevent stockbrokers et el from fucking over their clients, which exist on paper, but are "worked around" every which way from Sunday.

It corrupts people and gives incentive to push out shitty, unfinished products that retroactively get plagued by updates that make said products worse overall. The mistreatment of the natural world, the obnoxious hype culture and celebrity worship, and the corporate corruption of government are just the cherries on top of the shit sundae that is capitalism, and the worst part is that it's the only thing that works. Communism is a lolcow system that attempts to be the polar opposite of capitalism yet just amplifies the worst aspects of it, and Socialism is basically the exact same thing as communism except with more buzzwords like "democratic" and "equality" thrown in.
