Now when I did some research about it it just might.
It will come on April 2020 so I thought it won't change EC count for the November's elections because there will be not enough time but I was wrong.
Which way will it go will be interesting to see.
Some states will matter more than other but arguably all of these states are now Blue then they were 4 years ago.
I wish that the illegal's count changed the possibility of the election fraud but it won't. My biggest worry is Texas going Blue in a decade or so, and even if Texas loses a vote or 2(which I think it won't) it won't change a disastrous EC map.
I'm also waiting to see the results of the census to solidify my opinion on the EC. If the fuckers manage to redraw the districts even more in the favor of the Democrats, the right wing my be better off also wanting abolished EC.

Every article I read has a panicking tone regarding its effects on the 2020 election. I know they're fake news and all, but their fear points to a realistic effect of the census come next year. Am I wrong in thinking this? How long do censuses usually take to make final counts and changes to the elective process?

After I did some reading it just might. So the question is still open. I would prefer it didn't because 2020 is much less important than 2024. Still extremely important, just 2024 will be potentially much more important for our future.
In my opinion 2020 will be a Republican and Trump's win. I don't even doubt it. 2024 on the other hand may let us actually choose another Republican(Reagan, Reagan, Bush). Obviously that's pretty unlikely but possible. And may actually help this country for generations.

If Texas turns blue then Texas is lost and that means the Republicans have no chances of winning shit. That's a scenario that I'm dreading the most. In this case abolishing EC is in our interest because the red states are majority conservative and that popular vote would count. It would all require getting Republicans and the right leaning middle to vote much more than now (and the right sucks if it comes to grassroots movement compared to the left) but it would be doable.
This is of course my opinion and I need to do some more reading before I'm 100% sure(like go through all the elections for the past 20 or so years to see the results of the popular vote) but so far I think that wouldn't be as bad as we think.
Also the one condition that we are for abolishing EC is mandatory federal voter ID. Unfortunately that would suck, but possibly less then just letting the Democrats run this country forever.

It's not illegal to not answer the census, but it IS illegal to lie on the census. If illegals lie on the citizenship question, that gives ICE the warrant to immediately detain and deport them.

Census takers literally go door to door using a list of addresses that did not return. However they are not law enforcement so if you don't answer the door they just report it and move on. Odds are the only time you'll get charged is if you get arrested for something unrelated.
