Is there any particular reason not to be happy about this? The judges are looking to be 5-4 decided on the matter, with the majority on the side of allowing the question to be put on the census.

Depends on the ruling. I'm not sure what they will say, even though the court is slightly right leaning. Kavanaugh is so far voting like a neocon that he is. I'm sure the ruling will be discussed here. If they rule FOR the citizenship question(as they fucking shpul) then it may get really interesting. Cali will lose 1, possibly 2 EC votes. Texas? Maybe 1 AZ may surprise us because a lot of Californians move there...on the other hand a lot of them move to Texas as well so I'm not sure. I will be really interested in the results of the census. Unfortunately it won't affect the 2020 elections.
