Yes and no. 90% of the board is shit threads like this that don't want advice. 10% is people that actually want advice but 90% of those people don't actually follow any of the advice they are given. For the remaining people who actually need advice and are willing to follow it this board is useful.

Sometimes it will surprise you. Most of the time, however, most of the users are only posting to make themselves feel virtuous. The """advice""" tends to be worthless because the people giving it are self medicating their own anxiety, rather than actually trying to solve yours.

Start a thread about a dating problem and hide one sentence in the middle about how this is a fake post and you only want to check if people actually read the contents. You'll be showered by the usual pretentious, uninformed & feel-good drivel.

It used to be better. Most of the people here are people asking for advice or who just want to shitpost Jow Forums memery. Once you identify those and sort through the shit replies there is sometimes good advice

Overall, I'd say there are better places to go, especially IRL. Even anonymitity is false here now; you sign a google captcha with every post. That being said, I've had some genuinely good advice from here, and other places tend to bury new threads, so I don't want to brush it off easily.
If you have an eye for bullshit you'll be fine, but know that coming here regularly will expose you to toxic worldviews far too often, and you'll internalise them whether you realise it or not.
