Noone can give you an answer friend, certainly not random npc'a on the interneets.
This is something you have to answer for yourself.
Personally I fully embrace all negative thoughts that come to me, especially the self-hatred ones.
Then, I try to turn them around and ask myself 'what is the hardest thing I can do to turn this into something positive?'
An answer will come up, I usually hate it, and then continue to force myself to do it anyway because why the fuck not, I'll suffer no matter what.
No real drawbacks so far. Have been doing it for the last 3 years.
