I voted for Ron Paul in the 2012 primary.
If he had held true to his campaign promises the federal reserve would be abolished and the USD returned to the gold standard, meaning your dollar is worth "x" weight in gold. Would have been interesting because the government couldn't just "print money" anymore - they'd have to mine more gold in a perfect world. Obviously the next president would come in, reverse the policy so they could print a shitton of money.
