>study like 2 weeks
>surprised score isn't as good as expected

Damn how stupid can you be

Unless you're going to the scam that is college, SAT scores don't matter.

>tfw both my boyfriend and I got perfect SATs
>neither of us studied for it

Must be tough to be a brainlet, Opie.

College is a scam anyway....

There is very little statistical significance to a difference of 100 points

Take up reading as a hobby, like always carry a book with you. Also go on some homework help site and help people with their math. This will improve your scores more than the practice books.

fucking keeekkkkkkkk i thought you fucking autistic retards were supposed to be smart

it is one test, get over it

they offer retakes anyways

Just take it again.

what's your recommendation for getting a solid career path, anons?

You did better than over half who took the SAT. You're fine. Unless you want to get some STEM or law degree, SAT scores don't really matter. The worst you'll have to endure is 2 years of community college to get an AA, 4 year universities will look past SAT scores if you have an AA degree. Not the end of the world, OP.

Who the fuck studies for an SAT? That is proven not to work. The rest is designed so that studying won't work. You are dumb. Definitely barely a 115 at best with that kind of thinking. I am a 1330. No studying. I took it a second time to see if my shit would go up, nope, 1320. No studying either. Now begone you pathetic IQ120. Poetic genius signing off

My scores also remained static over the various tries after the first one. Although if you combined the scores from the subcategories I improved a bit.

Yeah, the SAT is an IQ test by a different name. It correlates almost directly with a standard IQ test. If you have a high SAT score you have a high IQ. You can't really study for one, I think average SAT study might give you 10 or 20 points, nothing significant

Well with an IQ test you could put a lot of time in to improve your score, of course, that won't actually raise your g factor which is the component of IQ that matters as it is responsible for IQ's predictive validity. It is worth noting that those who are already intelligent will have an easier time raiser their score than those who are not. Additionally, although I do know that at one point SAT correlated quite well I feel like I heard that more recent tests are less g-loaded.

Yeah they added an essay section so they can pad scores for minorities but u think they recently took that away? Not sure

I got a 1420/1600 without studying and my iq is pretty average. Maybe it's just a matter of pacing yourself well.

The trick is to realize literally nobody gives a shit to which school you went. All what matters on real job market is of you have any degree and connections. Maximum bonus points for doing intership before you even leave school.

Pick something what is high in demand and ideally cannot be outsourced. Dont be scared to move to different city or even state for better job. You can easily do it befote you get wife and babies.

I got 132 and 114 on 2 different school administered IQ tests but I only had an average SAT

What age were you? The heritability of traits like intelligence increases with age so the score ought to be more accurate the closer you took it to adulthood.

I think the essay is optional. as in you can choose to take the essay with the SAT when signing up.

likewise 1420 then 1430 with 1460 if you took the best of the two sections. I ended up taking the SAT three times, one really early on when it was out of 2400 and with an essay (I think).

First IQ test (132) was was 9 or 10. Second IQ test and SAT when I was 15.

>got a 1420/1600 without studying and my iq is pretty average. Maybe it's just a matter of pacing yourself well.

We're talking about the real sat which is only math/reading sections. You are average IQ and average SAT for the new version

Read above, retards

They went from 1600 Max to 2400 Max to 1600 again. So the "new" SAT is the same as the original one

consider the second one to be more accurate, the first one is likely due to better parenting/schooling than the average person of that age which becomes increasingly irrelevant as genes become more influential and nonrandom environmental effects become less influential.

I don't understand, we were talking about the new SAT which is out of 1600? what did you think we were referring to?

Mostly true. A top school means you’ll get a better starting job, but it evens out after about 2 years (e.g 23/24 year olds are all on level playing ground). I went to a mediocre state school and now work at the tech company everyone else wants to work at making strong 6 figures at 23. I work with people who graduated from MIT etc. and got offers RIGHT out of school, but I am there a year later with them, after an intermediate mediocre job.

State School isn’t as bad as it sounds. Very few paths require a top school on your resume. These are basically all top finance jobs where nepotism is rampant, and they prefer to hire from Harvard/Yale/MIT/etc. for analyst/associate roles. That said, the really top paying jobs are still a meritocracy there so even that’s not entirely true, there are people from shit schools who work very high in hedge funds and make millions.

You’ll only ever reach top tech firms if you study computer science on your own time outside of the degree, and really love doing it. What’s taught in college is very basic even at top school, until you hit the graduate level. So I suggest Comp Sci if you can teach yourself.

t. I got a 2350 on the SAT when it was out of 2400, but very low high school unweighted GPA, so we both had/have a similar college admissions handicap.

Nice 153. That's the real shit nigga

It's OP here. The SAT used to be a IQ test before major revision done in 1992. Vox Day covered this in one of his podcasts. Whilst it's true there is some correlation between the modern SAT and IQ, it's too rough to be trusted. I want to get a degree in CS, which makes getting into uni more difficult. The June SATs are infamous for having brutal curves, which mean the scores for that date should be higher. I didn't know that at the time of signing up for it. I think I'm gonna cut my losses and move to the ACT. The ACT doesn't have shit curves, so if I don't do well, at least I will know it's me.

It's OP. I want to get a degress in CS. And I'm doing duel credit through my local community college. Since I'm still in high school, it counts towards my high school credits. Which means I want enter like everyone else, not a transfer student.

I'm in a sinking ship right now user......

On my 1st try without studying I got a 1070 and that was my senior year of hs because I'm a retard for real

Just take it again, don’t know much about the ACT as my SAT was good enough that I didn’t bother but just take a bunch of practice tests and you should be fine. Also CS isn’t too demanding so you should be fine.
