It's literally because of Boomers retiring. The job market is actually relatively healthy right now. What's not healthy is the fact that current workers will never be able to hold up uncle sam's ponzi scheme, social security, under the weight of all these retired Boomers. And no matter who you elect into office, nobody will date to touch it. It's electoral suicide. The AARP is unironically one of the strongest political forces in the world and they will take us all down for their social security checks.
