He is a politically connected rich kid, which means he could literally do anything he wanted instead of doing something as damaging to your reputation as being the "face" of the "alt right." He could have been a finance bro, he could have been a political consultant, a lawyer, a congressman, etc.
Does he do that?

Instead he "chooses" to become the "leader" of a movement that the media calls "white nationalist."

If you're a politically connected rich kid and you grow up to be the leader of a "white nationalist" movement, then you're parents failed. Normally people like that come from more humble origins and they've usually had a troubled upbringing/childhood (the media would call them white trash).
