The problem with debates these days is that people have completely forgotten what words mean, and nobody in attendance does their fucking reading.

Half of that debate was the audience clapping and whooping when Zizek or Peterson simply repeated a piece of information. They could have agreed beforehand to make shit up and the audience would have made exactly the same sounds.

I'm not a communist, and neither really is Zizek. Peterson in his intro clearly showed a complete misunderstanding of Marxism, something which anyone who is intelligent and well versed in Marxism could easily call him out for. But why would Zizek try to do this? He agreed with Peterson on most issues.
If he was an attention whore he would have tried to get a BTFO on Peterson, and he would grab to revolutionary notions to entice young people, he did neither of these things.

I do agree that Peterson is a smart lad, but he clearly doesn't know much about Marxism, or politics in general. He is trained in psychology, and when he's talking about psychology he makes good points, many of which were on display in the debate. But when it comes to politics and philosophy Peterson is quite a brainlet, and anyone who is intelligent and trained in either of these fields could BTFO him. He clearly hasn't read the Critique of the Gotha Program, and probably hasn't read Das Kapital, if he has he would have come up with better arguments in his intro.
