OT "God" directly intervened in the affairs of man. NT "God" has taken a hands off approach after Jesus died. Yet, God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Why the change in plans? Also, I'm having a bit of a problem with the blood sacrifice thing. You see, OT saints didn't have to sacrifice in order to bring salvation. However, today's saints seem to think there was some prophecy about killing animals to "atone" for sin, but that wasn't quite good enough for God, so he went full on "kill my son" and now that was sufficient, so that's why we don't sacrifice animals anymore. At least, not in the temples.

So, Jesus came, never recorded to have done any actual sacrificing in the temples, and in defiance, preached a message of direct communion with God, and then the "jews", well, sacrificed him.
