Psilocybin opinions?

What are your guys' opinions on psilocybins?
I've been trying to quit weed for a bit and it's been difficult, it has set me back in terms of self improvement.
I've had multiple people tell me that a good trip can alter your perspective and priorities but I'm skeptical.
Your thoughts? Would it help? If so, how much do I take and how should I prepare for a trip?
Thanks

I want the Jow Forums perspective
You think anybody on /b/ would quit masturbating to trannies long enough to respond?

Microdose with them, use the energy and anxiety to organize your belongings. Try to poop before you take them.

I do know somebody that took some and didn’t have the desire to smoke weed much after that.
Or maybe they did lsd?
Either way, I dunno

In b4 some idiot tells people they should drop 6 grams

Mushrooms are a sacred sacrament for EVROPEAN pagans. Amerimutts should stick to high fructose corn syrup and benzos.

I only vote for the most beautiful mushroom.

Sacred mushrooms make a sacred pizza, especially if you got sacred homemade cheese, tomato, herbs and ham.

Based and sacredpilled

It's 9/10 minus the nausea from consuming fungus and the feeling of being a blimp.

4acodmt is nearly indistinguishable minus the fact that regular mushies can create autonomous entities at higher doses. As for perspective change, it happens the first time guaranteed and during subsequent "breakthrough" doses. These perspective changes won't make you a hippie commie liberal nigger faggot at all; only weak willed fags genuinely start to believe the enthogenic delusions associated with it. You always have to keep one foot in reality when dealing with psychedelics.

I’ll just leave this here

I stopped weed completely by going with heroin, best decision ever. I also don't drink anymore.

Based and hoffmanpilled

Colors are brighter. Shadows look 3d. Textured surfaces crawl. If that can fundamentally change your life you dont have any problems worth mentioning. Get a haircut and a job.

I used them to get over my depression rather than rely on pharmaceuticals. Like said you'll need to take enough to breakthrough to see any kind of difference though. At least an 1/8. Make sure you're not on any drugs that fuck with serotonin. Also don't take them unless you're mentally stable. I've seen psychedelics accelerate mental illness.

Take 7grams in complete darkness. When you come back, itll take you a bit to adjust. Months perhaps, Just dont fall into the Jew tricks like the hippies and LSD suggestogen.
Watch Pharmacratic Inquisition by Gnostic Media on youtube. Good start.

I stopped smoking weed for years after a huge dose of shrooms. Even one bowl now shoots me back into the astral realm or whatever the fuck you wanna call it.

Also, once you gather knowledge from the experience, many people first instinct is to blabber about it. Dont do that. Keep it to yourself. No one will understand you. People will think youre crazy. They just arent sacred pilled yet.

lsd did make me feel great, hard to describe with words the unnatural feeling you have on it. life changing? i dont know, maybe sitting by the computer gaming and listening to music isnt what im supposed to do on it

If you take it as a sacrament, it's fine. Entheogens like mushrooms should be treated with respect of the divine. Recreational use is degenerate.

Also read some literature like the Bardo before

I've tried them in the past, the feeling of it was (to me) like smoking extremely strong weed when it comes on.

It didn't cure depression or shit desu,
its just another high.

Based 4-aco-DMT poster.

Just try them. They've been used for thousands of years. And just quit smoking pot. I quit cold Turkey 4 months ago and I feel like myself again.

Degenerate synth users. Synthetics are man-made abominations, nothing like the food of the gods

What sort of weed are they giving in bongland lmao

How long had you smoked? I quit for almost a year and it was a nightmare desu

I use for depression 3 to 4 times a year. I dont take any other pharmaceuticals it just if I need what I call a "tune up". I usually do 6 to 7 grams when i do this though. Not for the faint of heart

Sacred Cringe

Do i need a trip sitter? I have some mushrooms but my cuz is too busy to hang out and I have no friends

Unless you're smoking weed with tobacco, you shouldn't feel withdrawal issues

Yeah 4-aco-DMT isn't EXACTLY a synth. Try it, it's the same. The psilocin comes from the same source, it just has the acetyl group removed, so it's not man-made, just edited a little.

no, at least i didnt
weed is great to kill the effect tho lmao if it becomes too much

No. Take it as said

lol.
I mean when the trip starts.. can't think of a better way to put it than to say its like extra strength weed?

I ate so many mushies once I lost count & then I got into a mindloop of "OMG gonna die soon."

Not from physical withdrawal, it was 100% mental. I quit a 17yr cigarette habit almost 10yrs ago

>trying to quit weed
you gigantic pussy, just stop.

Yeah same here. One session of p. cubensis, no more craving for pot or smoke. In the best shape of my life now. It's the true red pill.

you are such a pussy, dude

you fucking degenerate 12 year old

Mushrooms made me realize I shouldn't be using weed or psychedelics anymore.
Now I just practice transcendental meditation twice a day.
It works much better.
Good luck on your quest, OP

>i dont know, maybe sitting by the computer gaming and listening to music isnt what im supposed to do on it
It's a sign that it is not what you are supposed to do even when sober. Anything that you feel bad about on weed or psychedelics is almost always something that you truly do feel bad about in your subconscious. I have been so high that in the middle of writing a shitpost I felt utterly disgusted and ashamed of how I am spending my time. 5 hours laters I*m back to shitposting like no tomorrow

Kiss my ass faggot, you got no clue what I'm talking about. Quit that and amphetamine at the same time and remove all dopamine from your brain. See what happens.

It's individual. Quitting weed in itself is not hard. What is often hard is the months of brain recalibration that follow. Anxiety, depression, existential dread, derealization, brain fog, all very common for heavy smokers who quit.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anhedonia

meant

>I ate so many mushies once I lost count & then I got into a mindloop of "OMG gonna die soon."

That's Ego death. You should've went ahead and died, it would've been liberating. Seriously read the Tibetan book of the death, it'll guide you through the ego death.

Shrooms has a feeling of heavy weight, nothing like the lightness of weed. If you want to experience spiritual side of weed, smoke it with datura like the holy men in India do

Apart from some weird dreams, I never felt any withdrawal. Maybe it became a habit for you

>transcendental meditation
Did you create your own mantra? I've been practicing with just saying "oooo" "aaaa" or any other sustained vocal in my mind.

While shrooms can definitely give you a new perspective on things, I can guarantee that it won't help you quit weed.
If you want to quit then you already know weed is bad for you, so what do you expect to learn from tripping?
To quit smoking weed you need to keep yourself busy and stay away from other people that smoke, it really is as simple as that.

also nightmares and waking up soaked in your own sweat.
learning how to deal with emotions instead of using weed as an escape route.
Learning how to listen to your thoughts when they tell you to stop being lazy instead of smoking weed and making your body feel okay with being lazy.
Losing lots of friends
fixing your body's natural melatonin cycles
Resetting your body's metabolism
in the long run there's nothing but benefits to remaining sober. Weed also affects your nervous system and makes it difficult to get epiphanies/those high experiences while sober, so you really do appreciate the natural highs your body grants you.

A daily habit pretty much for ~20yrs

>You should've went ahead and died

Interesting, will remember this next time.

Also going to India/Nepal pretty soon, any do's/don't's on taking/getting mushrooms for a degenerate foreigner?

Recreational use of weed has been the greatest insult to Indian civilization that the west had delivered

Meditation should naturally open up you to the psychic states that entheogens give a glimpse to. Are you practicing using mental forms?

I heard the mantra is supposed to be a word that doesn't trigger any distracting thoughts.
I just repeat the word "flower" in my mind. For some reason it works for me.
Early on into the session you'll probably be repeating the mantra every fifteen seconds since your thoughts are still out of control. By the end of the session you barely have to repeat the mantra because your mind has settled, and that is when you transcend and you experience incredible images and feelings

>hat's Ego death. You should've went ahead and died,

I think I did die lol..
I certainly wouldn't recommend smoking datura to anyone that stuff is lethal in inexperienced hands.

yeah funny how easy it is to forget certain things
was great feeling like a kid again though, experiencing gaming and music but the day after its the same old bullshit

Read the spiritual literature first. Ancients had already went beyond those states of consciousness, they will guide you. Also follow some basic safety precautions, don't take it with shady guys wtc

Aren't most Indian spirituals anti-psychedelics/experience hunting using substances?
Every spiritual I've listened to was anti-drug.

No it's all bullshit. Psilocybin is just another drug. I grew them for years when I was younger. All it does is make you retarded.

>Anxiety, depression, existential dread, derealization, brain fog
This this this

Datura is a holy plant of the Shiva, as important as spiritually as Cannabis. But you're right, inexperienced hippies should stay away from entheogens. Even when they are not poisonous, they damage the mind.
Shiva is the God of destruction and death. For a conditioned being like us, any experience of the unconditional would feel like death.

Mushrooms peel back your ego and expose you for who you really are.

Anti drug fags are just as bad as anti gun fags. They dont like or are fearful of drugs so they seek to ban them because they are too much of a pussie to live in a world where they have to admit they are scared so they would rather just get rid of it all.

Psilocybin unquestionably changed my life. You're skeptical because of cultural pressures found in industrialized society. I promise the more research you do on the topic the more you will learn and feel better about the experience. The most important thing to take into account is the setting. I took 4.5 my first time with two close friends who had already tripped and we took a hike. They kept me stable the entire time and were able to open me up and helped feel relaxed at all time so I could explore the nature around me and more importantly my mind and inner conscious. People are always scared of having a "bad" trip but this is rare and can make you appreciate reality and the world around you so much more which helped me with substance abuse. Another thing you might be scared of is an addiction but through your research, you will find that that is near impossible. If you use the drug properly and don't just do small recreational doses purely to see cool visuals you will have a wonderful experience the drug.

>What are your guys' opinions on psilocybins?
They're fun but they aren't gonna help you quit smoking weed.

I've been reading a lot about the subject the past 2 years but mostly western perspectives (i.e. Leary, Huxley). Do you have any recommendations other than the Tibetan Book of the Dead?

>Recreational use of weed has been the greatest insult to Indian civilization that the west had delivered
Get over yourself. Cannabis merely happened to evolve in central Asia. Culturally you have no innate claim to it, since it had already spread all over the world thousands of years ago.

I thought the point was to repeat it constantly until your mind shuts down?

I've done DMT over five times, shrooms over fifty times, LSD over 200 times, and was a weed smoker for over ten years including dabbing hash oil.
I'm now anti-drug.
Not everybody who is anti-drug is inexperienced, they have just come to a conclusion that most come to after experiencing drugs on a deep level.
They inhibit the development of your consciousness and make it difficult to reach these states while sober.

Real gurus are hard to find in this Kali Yuga, the age of decadence. Those who follow the right hand path would advice against all sorts of drugs. But left hand path, like the tantra, recommended their use, in a way as to use the poison as medicine for this conditioned existence. Evola has good explanations about these stuff

Terrence McKenna- the secret

Evola would be the most accessible for a western person. Yoga of power and Doctrine of Awakening are good. Read Arthur Avalon too

Transcendental meditation 101
>Sit in a comfortable position
>Set a timer for 20 minutes
>Close your eyes
>Focus on your breathing
>Your mind will say things to you like I'm hungry, I should do this later, I liked watching that movie last night, etc.
>Every time one of these thoughts appears, repeat your mantra.
>Silence your mind
>repeat for 20 minutes
>By the end of the 20 minutes, your mind will be so still that the repetition of the mantra becomes less and less frequent
>You will transcend
Repeat twice a day for optimal results. The hardest part is getting yourself to sit down and do it. Don't skip your daily meditations.

>The hardest part is getting yourself to sit down and do it.
With that I do agree.

Terrence McKenna was a CIA asset used to keep people away from religion and fuck up their souls.
He was essentially a chaos demon.

i think now many years after not taking any substances that we are just subjecting ourselves to a form of poisoning when we take these things.

eating mushrooms is a form of poisoning yourself, likewise with other drugs and things.

As Paracelsus said “All things are poison and nothing is without poison; only the dose makes a thing not a poison.”

Yah but most anti drug fags are ignorant

I think the natural conclusion to drugs is that you can do something more constructive with that time, but that's a bullshit optic

I'm salary but I typically work 8 hours a day, then the kids and various other commitments. Maybe like 2 nights a month I get to myself, so why not get stoned during that time? It's my fucking time

We live in a society that prides sobriety for some reason, there are a lot of men who would be proud in doing nothing during that free time over smoking a little weed. It keeps my stress down and makes me more productive when it matters

>Get over yourself. Cannabis merely happened to evolve in central Asia. Culturally you have no innate claim to it, since it had already spread all over the world thousands of years ago.

There's a trend of western hippy liberal degenerates coming to India to smoke weed and "find themselves". Even our degenerates are invoking shiva's name to justify themselves. It's not unusual to find themselves trying to score from holy men who laugh at their faces

They are sacred. I used to supply headshops and was part of the legal defence fund. With a few others we taught the world to cultivate. They are 100% harmless and sacred. Good idea.

yes weed is great for relieving stress. it is not good however for helping you escape the lifestyle that is creating that stress in the first place.
It more so just places a filter over your life and makes you content with your current life situation.
weed will make you comfy, meditation and sobriety will force you to deal with the discomfort and change your life.

Or you can keep a calm objective mind and watch flow of thoughts as they pass by, like in a riverbank. Much easier than the cutting with a sword all your thoughts that come up

Thanks. You seem like you know what you're talking about as opposed to most of the hippie douchebags or so called gurus who claim to have found spiritual awakening. Will check out the books.

Speaking of mushrooms has anyone here experienced oral DMT? That is, consuming an MAOI followed by the DMT freebase? It is my preferred psychedelic, but the nausea taints the experience.

So why are you allowing them in? Why do you let degenerates behave like that? Sounds like India is ruining the Indian civilization.

I think that's a hangover from the 1960's...

People in the fens in England used cannabis in the 17th century to treat malaria symptoms

interesting thought I'll try it.
What form of mediation is that called? You don't agree with mantra meditation?

Dose matters, but so does the way of doing it. Ancients used them by first invoking in these substances their transcendental essence. In tantric sex magic, they invoked the feminine spirit in the women, it was nothing like the orgies that people think they are

Drugs are a way to cross the foggy gulf of consciousness to reach the other side. After years of making the journey you realize that the gulf is neither grand nor foggy. And ten you can use meditation and diet to achieve the same experiences.
Welcome fren to the new consciousness
Enjoy your stay

I think that's called pharmausaca.
You can do it by consuming syrian rue before ingesting DMT freebase.
I haven't tried it because I've heard it can really fuck up your digestion for days or weeks.

Because we're degenerates too. No place is safe in this age. All of my friends who smoke weed are hippie douchebags, who sees it as a party drug. Same for alcohol too.

Based and legbapilled

Unless you are blazing up 24/7 I dont even agree with that

When I was in grad school I had a part time job and also was a TA. my average day was up at 7am, work out at the gym down the street. Get to work at 9, work for a couple hours, go to class, work some more hours, then ta, and back to work (I had a research position on campus). Most nights I get back at 8pm, then I do an hour or two of hw.

When I'm done with my work which is around 10pm, i smoked up and went to bed at 1130

My point is that if you are a loser, drugs can make you more of a loser. But if you are already a productive person, non addictive drugs are just fine. The perspective that drugs make you lazy is incorrect, it just makes already lazy people lazier

Be safe and have a spiritual mentor
You’re very brave to try user

There are medical uses, that's true. There is a sankrit saying that every plant is a medicine. Paracelsus understood this, he was an alchemist. He understood the value of invoking the transcendental principle in the medicine he prescribed.

Yes, I did it with Syrian Rue but also B. Caapi (Syrian Rue felt toxic to me.) The experience itself feels powerful even with a low dosage, but I need to find a way to reduce nausea. I heard that the P. Cyanescens mushroom is a very similar to an orally induced DMT experience, but I have my doubts. I can not even find P. Cyanescens on the black market anyhow, P. Cubensis is mainly offered.

>100% harmless
I mean, aside from turning your music tastes into garbage

>Try to poop before you take them.
Seconding this

Weed affects REM sleep and leaves you in a subtle daze even if you sleep it off.
For up to thirty days after smoking weed once, your chance of reaching sober epiphanies is near zero.
You're better off just taking a melatonin supplement an hour before bed. It has a mild sedative effect similar to that of weed without the negative effect on your spirit.

ive done shrooms a few times. its a lot of fun, but this "alter your perspective" shit is overblown

Ginger capsules, fast for twelve hours before consumption (don't eat the day of the trip)
Have a traditional ginger brew or gatorade handy, they reduce nausea instantly.

>im a casual user look at how little im affected

I don't remember the name for it, but Buddha recommended it as a way of achieving Samata, the prerequisite for further meditation of invoking the elements. You can do it in ordinary life, essentially it's keeping an objective mind and doing everything as a ritual, as an offering to the transcendental self
