google loses a ton of money on youtube and they have struggled for years to figure out what direction they can go with it to actually make money. also the site is run by one of the founder's family members, Susan Wojcicki is both a major cunt and completely untouchable or unquestionable within the company.

I have not worked for them directly but I get the feeling that it's a major political quagmire where nothing gets accomplished. On one hand they know they are fucked with losing money but they also can't get out of their own way in shaping it to be something profitable.
