Evolution is 100% real. Think of all those birth defects. Some of them are terrible and life ending and some are very minor. Evolution takes a very long time for a variety of reasons.

The main reason is that if it ain't broke don't fix it applies, so generations tend to not try and change too much unless something in their environment changes and they need to adapt to it. Selective breeding of dogs is a very good example of evolution and how they were bred to become man's best friend.

It's possible to get an approximate age of the earth by adding up numbers from statements made in the Bible and you'll come out to about 6200 years, roughly because it doesn't tell you exactly how many days.
