Just BELIEVE in science bro it's totally legit and meaningful.

The probabilistic nature of the quantum world is proven through repeated, replicable experimentation to be reality. It's logically unassailable and I love watching you dumbshits who couldn't pass a high school physics class talk shit about it. You couldn't even describe how those events are measured yet you'll be the first to say that the methods for measurement are inaccurate.
Please, continue. How is public school treating you?
Justin Cruz
Leaving the comment in here to return to this subreddit once it gets traction. Upboat pls.

Just because we don't know the particle spin before measurement it doesn't mean that the spin is not determined. We discover its true spin at the moment of measurement. Some quantum effects are real but the entire entanglement part is bullshit.
Jeremiah Morgan
>ignoring nonloacality >ignoring super-positioning >ignoring the FACT that particle wave duality will collapse to a discrete state upon observation >pretty much doesn't understand the implications of the double-slit experiment
The calculations they have are correct but it doesn’t make sense given the current best estimation of mass in the universe
Dark matter is a theoretical stand in until they figure out what the difference is

>Anyone else think that Science is regressing into magical thinking recently?
not recently , for while now science has been headed by sophists who are defended by an army of zealots. Its nothing new, but it is a good litmus test on whose trying to be smart, and who is smart, by who can question the metaphysical philosophy of modern scientism.

The perceived gravitational attraction of galaxies is much bigger than the masses of the elements suggests. And that's why they conclude that there must be hidden dark matter which is in fact 85% of all matter. There is no measurement of dark matter. While I wouldn't disregard this theory, I would still encourage competing theories like the elecyrical universe.
No, dark matter was proposed as a fudge factor to resolve the discrepancy between observed galactic rotation velocity profiles and the profiles predicted by general relativity.
Andrew Johnson
No, the standard model is just wrong, look into plasma cosmology

false, its been reasserted through theoretical calculations repeatedly, based in unproven and unobserved axioms.

Explain the results of the double slit experiment when using phased beams of photons (aka lasers). What causes the decoherence of the phase arrangement?

Shit we made up to make our equations work is not science. Quantum probabilistic behavior is just more of the same post hoc curve-fitting and not explanatory of the actual nature of the universe. Polbro is correct. Also dark matter is the invention of a female astrophysicist who should be at home making sandwiches.
Robert Hernandez

A theory about the probabilistic nature of the universe is a theory about what happens between measurements. You just agreed that it can't be proven while asserting that it has been.

Makes you think. So no, you can't go inside a black hole because it isn't even a hole to begin with. That also means white holes are completely retarded science fiction trash.
Isaac Sanders
actually a hell of a lot of the predictions made by quantum mechanics are the same if you just consider them randomly moving particles rather than these weird probability wavefunctions.
Not all of the predictions are the same, but most. The math between the two cases only becomes disjointed in certain specific instances.
Bentley Reyes
There's nothing hard nor special about understanding mathematics, get off your high horse. If someone doesn't understand it, it's because it hasn't been taught in a way for a student to understand it.
.t all I made it to was geometry and could see math was boring because unless your one of the top ten mathematicians in the world actually breaking new ground, you're just walking on a path already laid out by smarter people. Boring. As. Fuck.
this is a retarded argument. a theory is a body of verified hypotheses
Jason Hall
We don't know a lot about the universe, we understand some basic laws but we don't really know much else. We'll been seen as cavemen 2000 years from now when we got niggas traveling in the 5th dimension.
You separate the wave-equation and the energy quanta and treat them as two separate phenomena, as per de Broglie–Bohm pilot wave theory. In that model the 'coherence' of the photons is not actually a property of the photons themselves, but a property of the underlying field.
This pretty much explains all the observable effects of quantum theory without requiring a single photon to go through two slits at once.
Angel Reed

> Recently The entire history of science is a battle between practical scientists vs the elite with their mystery school ideology, which they use institutional power (Royal Academy of Sciences etc) to promote. There has barely been a time in history when our side have been dominant. The scientific priesthood has run science for the majority of the past 2500 years.
Ethan Perez
So you're basically saying that the energy is not connected to the photons, but the photons are kind of riding the wavefront of energy?

Don’t know much about this stuff, so I won’t pretend. But I heard that from the perspective of a photon, it does not experience time or special distance.
While the matter of probabilistic nature being proven is more of a philosophical debate, it should be mentioned that we couldn’t have proven gravity or relativity or black holes existed when we first conceptualized them, nor the atom itself, which was only caught in photo by a computer.
Jack Harris
You all know how a fourier series works right?
Basically ANY function can be approximated with a sum of sines and cosines. Kind of like taylor series but with sines and cosines (and you can approximate non-continuous functions with this).
Well you can actually approximate a "wavepacket" using such a sum. So you can actually say that a "photon" is just a sum of various frequencies of "light waves". In other words, you can definitely still consider light a "wave" and also explain why it comes in packets. Also, this means that since light is just a wavefront, even if the "photon" is travelling through one hole in the slit, the wavefront is still moving through the other hole as well (it just sums up to zero over there)
Are eggs good or bad for you? How bout cigarettes? Is the earth cooling, warming, what? Did animals evolve slowly, slowly, into completely different species? Oh, no, you're right. Science is never wrong, don't question the dogma of the faith, peasants! You could never grasp the infinite nature of G... the Universe. Leave it to us, the Prie... scientists. We understand, you see. We will tell you what is true. And what is true is... uh... there are infinite dimensions and we happen to live in a perfectly anthropo-centric one. But it's because we are all just a computer simulation. We know all this because invisibly small, immeasurably infinitesimal particles that we think might exist behave in ways that we hitherto swore up and down for centuries are utterly impossible. Trust us. These huge constructs of theoretical equations based on other theoretical equations with no real anchor to the world around us are too complex to argue with.
Caleb Turner
Dark matter is the afterlife existing in our same dimension, hence ghosts/astral travels etc
Quantum space is really subspace aka the fabric of space time and reality itself
Chase Moore
Is this why Tesla was always fucked with so hard? All the documentaries and media about him make him seem like a genius kook but I've always been super skeptical. I think he had research that has been suppressed and he knew shit about the nature of the universe that would probably change our entire existence if researched upon by the world since his death
Nathan Mitchell
user, you can do it with a piece of paper, and a 3$ laser pointer... just ask your mum to cut the slits lest you hurt yourself.

Well, riding on a wavefront of something at least.

Dark matter is imo really more like a surrogate for "slab of space devoid of electrons/positrons/neutrons" that they created to avoid having to resort to electromagnetics in order to explain the effects.

its not energy calculations its simpler mass calculations, the galaxy is suposed to accalarate if all mass distribution is what we see, so there is a lot of dark mass in the galaxy maintaining its spin, and this is valid for all galaxies, exept one galaxy discovered this year which does not posess dark mass. i suggest this channel: youtube.com/user/whatdamath/videos
