I am 31, I have been living with my parents for about 7 months now. I've moved in mostly because I have a new job that is located closer to their place and I don't have to pay the rent. I wouldn't do so if I had my own family but I'm a social failure. I'm a nice guy, people's pleaser. I always get praised by old religious ladies, but no girl my age was ever interested in me. I've never had a girlfriend, I'm an old soul, I've always had friends way older than me, I'm highly introverted, agreeable and interested more in objects than people, unfortunately I am not very attractive either and I'm just 5'7. I have a responsible and pretty prestigious job that keeps me occupied so much that I don't have much of a free time. At this point I am seriously worried that I will die alone or commit suicide at some point out of sheer loneliness. I am highly self-critical and aware of all of my flaws, but I have a time changing myself to fit the society better.

I moved out when I was 18. Paid my own shit, albeit the housing issue here in Mexico is nowhere as fucked as yours.
Still, I have many friends who live with their parents still and don't plan to move out till they're in their late 20's. And I mean rich kids who live in mansions but can equally afford a gigantic apartment in Condesa or Polanco.
Most parents prefer it too. It costs way less to have your kid living at home than supporting him in another apartment and any extra money he gets from his job can be saved for his future while he finds a wife. And this is in the high class society. Mutli-generational homes are a standard, because why the fuck not? If things get too tight, some would even just build more floors, no matter the structure, materials, street, zone, etc. It's actually really impressive.
It's funny because this way of living kind of creates heteronormativity. It also creates useless fucks who can't live by themselves and need maids, so this way of living actually supports the informal economy. Crazy shit.

I'm 29, married, with a young child and living with my parents in a 5 bedroom house in a good neighbourhood.
We live comfortably together and they help with the child and we all share household expenses and duties.
Parents are also probably about 10-15 years away from retirement with a fairly large part of the mortgage still unpaid.
A 2 bedroom house in this area costs on average around $1 mil. I dont want to move into some ghetto or some shitty apartment.
We have no incentive to move out

I work in the city but choose to commute so my family can live in a town of 15k with great schools. If I wanted to be single, no kids and rent a single bedroom apartment in Dallas for 2k a month and eat avocado toast that’s my choice. However, I chose to marry a nice girl and raise two kids away from the filth of Dallas. My kids play outside all day and walk to and from school. This whole epidemic of adults living with mom is a choice.
