If a new character is born, ideally it would be organic. The character itself would be at base, seemingly non-political and innocuous, yet able to be made political as the situation calls, or a form of any other kind. Really though, this is something that occurs organically, but also at times, the opposite, but long time lurkers generally have a good eye to see what is forced and what isn't. Don't worry about whether we should have a new character or not, it will likely come whether anyone desires it or not.

Not only do we need more characters, I suggest that we study divergently, I have studied evolutionary psychology, it may be of use to others too. But still there are many other subjects that can be relevant, from marketing, math related studies too. Whatever gains us more efficiency.
