I'd like to have your optimism but I feel they won't lose too many seats as there won't be enough alternatives developed yet to get them out. Plus it's Fianna Fail, they'll convince people they did nothing to help Fine Gael out.
However I've heard stories of a lot of the mainstream parties getting a lukewarm or negative reception the doors this time out, lot of people are fed up with the shite on offer, which might propel a real alternative like NP somewhere if we're lucky.

NP are putting everything into the General Election and ignoring the May 24th elections.
