There have been attempts to build a "new internet" of sorts by some groups who dont like all the censorship. Crypto companies like skycoin and DADI for example. We should start looking into this. It has become more than clear that the internet is no longer a safe place for wrongthink.

For example, twitter is now effectively a 'publisher', because they are choosing what opinions they publish on their website. legally speaking that's should make them liable for libel laws. For example, a newspaper is a publisher too, and if you write a piece in a paper calling to genocide a bunch of people then the paper can get in trouble, because it's chosen to publish that piece. Twitter (and all these other sites really) wants to have it both ways, they want to be a publisher by only allowing certain opinions through, but also claim to not be one, pretending they don't choose the information they publish on their site (allowing themselves excemption from libel laws).

Ultimately this whole mess would have been avoided if websites that get this big and fall under 'social media' catagorization were just considered trusts, and as such a form of monopoly that has to abide by different rules to lets say, a small blog or something. It's obvious that social media is a key part of everyday life now.

There's tons of decentralized companies. I think we need a Jow Forums that acts as a social media. Like facebook or something, only everyone is anonymous with some other changes.

And it wouldn't be perfect because there'd be grey areas but ultimately it would prevent this tyrannical buying up of the internet internet and bringing it under this huge agenda for censoring non PC views.
