No, just different growing conditions. Psilocybin mushrooms all have the same active ingredients and some species are more potent by weight than others.
However with that said, how you consume them makes a difference. Fresh mushrooms contain a mix of psilocin (unstable active ingredient) and psilocybin (stable but converted to psilocin in the body).
If you eat them fresh they're slightly stronger and they hit you faster. that's because psilocin is active as soon as it's absorbed. If you dry them first for later consumption the psilocin breaks down. When you eat the dry mushrooms you're only getting psilocybin which is dephosphorylated by your liver before it becomes active. This means that it takes longer to come on and doesn't hit you as hard.
Ideally you want to eat them fresh but that's not always possible.
It's also possible, if you only have the dry stuff to dephosphorylate them yourself. Just sock them in lemon juice. It'll turn into the blue colored revolting looking pond scum. The lemon juice dephosphorylates the psilocybin into psilocin and it'll hit you much quicker and stronger but comes at the cost of having to drink the blue sludge.
