I think this is bullshit which downplays the achievements of the settlers and pioneers by labeling them as immigrants but there is some truth to the statement. We did have millions of immigrants come here throughout our history, and even though I think calling the settlers immigrants is downplaying their role in creating America it is true that they weren't natives of America.
But you can't use that excuse on Europeans because you are natives of Europe. The only thing they can do is make up bullshit history about how Europeans used to have brown skin which is supposed to justify all the multiculturalism.
