After 8-12 years of school and training, which comes at a price of not only the med school tuition but the opportunity cost of not earning six figure salaries throughout those years. 600k cap for lucrative specialties is way off. Most orthopedic spine guys pull 7 figures, they're just too smart to answer income surveys. Look into the statistics and facts regarding schools because place of education actually has very little to do with how well educated you get, and that's something that people do not understand well at all.

Something like 60% of the variance in grades is explained by a combination of both IQ and trait contentiousness, IQ of course you cannot change but there's some wiggle room for training contentiousness by doing things that keep you organized such as writing out schedules and planning your time.

Most of the value of the unis is in actually screening out people who are smart and contentious, and that accounts for the grade difference between good and bad schools, it's merely effectiveness in the screening process Or put more simply, good unis have good standards and select smart students, they don't make stupid kids into smart adults.

The most important aspects of education in my opinion is firstly don't get loaded up with debt to get educated. Probably do a standardized proper IQ test and make sure you pick a career path that aligns with that IQ, if you aim too high you'll be at the bottom of a field too hard for you and that's worse than being near the top of a field of something you can actually do. And lastly only get a degree if that degree is typically necessary for the job you want to do, sometimes you legally need training (legal, medical) and sometimes it's highly advised for advanced professions but for many things it's not.
