It is. If a jury finds that in a technical sense 'that guy was wrong' but in a moral sense they were not they can award the judgement to the plaintiff. But they can then set the amount at one dollar.

Basically it is the jury saying 'fuck you' to the plaintiff (his family) and saying that yeah maybe in the most technical sense the cops were wrong, but they dindunuttin actually wrong.

You got to be pretty bad to get that sort of judgement.

Not really. You would expect that blacks would make up 50% of the deaths through interaction with police. Since we tend to say they commit 50% of the most violent crimes. You might expect it to be closer to 60% since that is the number of police deaths and assaults that are attributed to blacks.

But the fact is that blacks make up about 25% of those killed through interactions with the police. Whites, who are a fraction of those stats above (like around 20%) instead make up 50% of those who die through interactions with the police.

I just read about this story. The cops shot him through the garage door. They claim he pointed a gun at them and he had an unloaded gun in his back pocket. He was playing loud rap music in his garage across from a school and somebody called the cops on him. He was also drunk. Never call the cops on people unless you want them or their family dead because they kill almost 1000 people a year "defending" themselves.

Or the nogs were too dumb to get a lawyer. And I'm sure he was just "sitting quietly listening to his music". The media has trained all nogs to go 100% ape anytime a badge is around them for no reason at all. They feel justified spitting on any sort of authority

That I can't answer. I'm just commenting on why a jury would find for one dollar. We covered that back in my first business law class.

It is really the way for the jury to say 'fuck you' to a person who is using the letter of the law to their advantage when reality says they are actually the problem. If I'm not mistaken (I may be wrong on this point) it is also a way for the jury to cock-block any further action.
