It is my impression that Trump used executive privilege to protect Barr. Democrats demanded that Barr release grand jury information, something he is not legally supposed to do. But by not releasing it, they claim he is in contempt. So Trump is like, "Yeah fuck you people, suck my executive privilege" or something along these lines. The Democrats really seem dead-set on pressing a contempt charge on Barr just to spite him for not lying to them about the contents of Mueller's report. It's all so very childish. And insane.
