Vedantic Hinduism is very based (we're beings that tend towards Brahman/God), and the archtypes of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva as Creation, Time, and Entropy are unmatched if you're like me and consider God's representative archetypes of underlying fundamental realities. However any literalist interpretation is dogshit, and Hinduism is held back by archaic beliefs such as cow and polluted river worship. Without some sort of reform India will one day be a Muslim country.

Do you believe in a literalist interpretation of Hinduism (eg Krishna actually came and moved mountains). I'm actually a big admirer of Shiva/Vedantic Hinduism but there are certain aspects of Hinduism I just can't past.
