Are confident people just delusional?

I've been reaching a conclusion that whenever someone is really passionate and confident about something, it just means that they view the world in a low resolution.
There's like a bias to latch on to something and go all in on it.
For example:
>global warming
>SJWs
>Communists
>Socialists
>Ancaps
>any politician
It takes great patience and IQ to have opposite possibilities exist at the same time in your head and to realize that you rarely know anything so well that you can be confident about it.
tldr: you can't trust confident people objectively

Are you confident in this assertion?

Confidence is good sign of stupidity.

If they are unable to talk about it then they are stupid as you said. Being confident and having substance to back it is a different thing.

I think you're right on the money. The art of life is balancing the need for truth with the need for progress.

Most people who harp on about one particular ideology are just NPCs repeating something that somebody else told them. Anyone who bothers to look for reliable information isn't as sure of themselves.

My mother is a schizophrenic. When she's in a state of psychosis, she's one of the most confident people I know

I completely agree. Life is very complicated and a person should never believe in something like its 100% true.

Not really, that's why I'm asking for feedback.

I agree, the way you say something is at least as important as the thing you're trying to say. The problem is that most people can't tell the difference between a confident person with real substance and a delusional ranter.

That's an interesting claim, I haven't heard of it before. Can you bring an example of it?

If you guys agree about confidence being delusional, why is it that women like confident men?
Is having a doubtful brain a relatively new phenomenon that women haven't learned to appreciate yet?

Because it's difficult to tell the difference between genuine competence and delusional confidence. This is also how most incompetent corporate middle managers get promoted.

Because we live in a welfare state, extraversion is what women will select for. Autists that are hyper-aware of their limitations are not well-suited to the current civilizational phase, even though their type made civilization possible in the first place. We are in an extremely dysgenic period of civilization that will likely collapse unless an authoritarian regime stomps on the Jew and institutes eugenic policies. Very unlikely to happen though.

But isn't the welfare state a relatively new thing?
Changes in sexual selection logic should take a long time. Have extroverts always been the preferred choice?

Confidence has its place.
You must be confident about things you have educated yourself in and have experience with in order to execute any kind of productive plan with your life.
I'm confident when I go to the gym and exercise for a month straight and eat clean I am going to look better than the prior month.
I grew up learning the basics of carpentry and hard work, I bought a piece of shit house 6 years ago without ever having remodeled an entire house with the intentions of flipping it.
Everyone told me it was a huge project, scary and could lose money.
I had confidence in myself that I could persevere and do it all myself and make money.
I made a ton of money off of it and have flipped 10 houses since then and quit my day job three years ago.
Confidence is something you have to carefully pair with humility in a balancing act.
You can trust some confident people. But confidence in and of itself is not inherently a low IQ bad trait by any means.
TL;DR - Some confident people can be trusted others can't but you yourself must have some confidence based on experience and knowledge to execute any kind of productive plan.

Population level changes in response to artificial selection occur extremely quickly. Imagine if the US only let niggers breed. It would go from 13% to 100% in a single generation. Natural selection is only slow when evolution is following a random walk. We can create fish with 10% larger brains in a single generation simply by artificially choosing those which performed best at a simple task.

If a society is engineered to promote certain traits being propagated, then we are far from the random walk regime and changes will be observed over much smaller timescales.

are over analytical people just dull, obtuse, mentally ill, socially inept brains in a jar?

Yes but you could achieve greatness with confidence

>Yes but you could achieve greatness with confidence
greatness is only ever achieved with confidence, not that any of you wieners have any concept of what that means

No, some of them are just stupid. Delusional is not quite the same thing.

Good for you man. I'm gonna buy my first apartment next week and have to completely renovate it. It is scary, but I do have the same hunch that I'm able to make it a net profit.

Blacks are some of the dumbest and most confident people I have ever met, I have seen blacks with the confidence of demi-gods assert the Earth is flat and that they are da real Israelites in down town Seattle. I'm not saying your confident if your stupid but not having critical thinking skills may give you a false sense of confidence.

>buying into sharing 8 common walls with strangers
solid move, frogfuck

A hunch is a guess based off of feelings outside of quantifiable facts.
Confidence is assurance in your abilities.
Which one is it?

We are the universe studying itself. Development of cognitive abilities seems to be the goal of life to achieve that better.
A person is only overt analytical when it get so obsessive that the person won't be able to survive and optimally replicate anymore.
Or what alternative you suggest: lay back, enjoy the moment and be happy?

Where is that picture taken?

Changes in sexual selection logic happen immediately when you change the environment and incentives.

>Or what alternative you suggest
grinding overly verbose little faggots like you into dust

Actually only 2 common walls. It's a classical style house in good shape and a good neighbourhood.

I'm confident that the value will rise significantly with even just minor improvements.
The hunch is that I can make the improvements with a smaller amount of money than the profit.

>Actually only 2 common walls.
>akshually
go back to r∑ddit, fuckboy

I noticed this with jewish-maghrebis

they are dumb as fuck but they have so much self confidence that they try everything until they become successful

Good luck going back to hunter-gatherer lifestyle then

You can quantify improvement costs.
I do it down to the last outlet and gallons of paint I buy. Lineal feet of trim boards ect.
Inductive reasoning is everything in Real Estate.

As someone who searches for truth compulsively to ill effects, this really hits home.

>If you guys agree about confidence being delusional, why is it that women like confident men?
Confidence has a different meaning for a woman than for a man. For a woman is synonymous of arrogant, while for a man is the capacity to carry out something.

Don't confuse ideology with things you can "know". Anyone can master an ideology and know all their is to know about being a liberal, then no shit they're gonna be confident within that bubble.

For other things, there's almost always a curve where the majority of people either know too little to be confident, or are on the dunning kruger curve. The idea itself is a cliche but it does have some truth. However, there isn't just one dunning kruger curve, but many. You have to go through dozens and dozens of cycles of thinking you got something down and then being mistaken and re-learning to truly become an expert at which point you can then permanently attain a level of true, rather than false confidence.
