fun

white high IQ ethnostate

what's up with the memeflag circlejerks lately?

You could literally watch pictures of naked ladies loading one line at a time.

It felt bigger.
Also didn’t use cookies and click bait to subvert you into social programming.

better because niggers were priced out of the consumer market. it was a place for those who had wealth and knowledge, sharing information they deemed worthy of others taking note from. dont believe me? just go on the internet right now and look at all the trash

Only really whites online in western countries. Internet felt smaller but at the same time massive given how you had to navigate around it (webrings and such).

2007 was the second Eternal September and its all down hill from there.

Uber-based, redpilled, no normies at all, smart chicks, no political bullshit, hacking for shits and giggles, uber-trolling methods... and slow.
Now I'm fucking melancholic. Delet this thread.

Romanians could afford computers and internet in the 90s?

It was great. You had to quit downloading a jpeg and get off the computer so your mom could make a phone call.

>Also didn’t use cookies and click bait to subvert you into social programming.
This too.

Ironically, there were very few bongs around.

The schizos and right-wingers didn't know how to use computers so it was pretty nice actually.

Attached: s-l1000[1].jpg (750x1000, 131K)

no youtube. people read a lot.

nigga, only schizos and right-wing used the internet in the 90s.

Neither did niggers.

We invented the internet. In fact, I had a personal role in its invention.

The culture in the 90s was more normal due to social constraints, bullying, and general social pressure for social norms.

All the fringe shit that people spew today did not exist. Not that people didn't have those thoughts, rather they did not express them publicly. This was reflected in television and main stream culture. Stuff had to appeal to the overwhelming majority of people. You had to go out of your way to find fringe stuff. The internet has changed that, due to people not being totally social isolated due to fringe crazy beliefs.

This is the "toaster fucker" metaphor.
If you go back to 1990, and someone in you peer group exclaimed "I want to fuck toasters" the entire group would ostracize them. They would be socially isolated and they would be faced with a choice. Either they could adhere to societal norms and not be alone, or be alone and express their toaster fucking opinion.
Flash forward to today, now that same person can go online and find forums and message boards devoted to fucking toasters. They can debate the merits of fucking toasters vs. toaster ovens. They are no longer isolated. If they express their shitty view to the rancor of the public they can always retreat online for the social support.
Now we are in a society where no one gives a shit what reaction they get in their community to what ever opinion they have, as they have their own community which provides support to them.

In short
>I want to fuck toasters.
1993
>What a fucking weirdo.
2019
>Here is a huge community to support fucking toasters.

same as today, except there were no feminists and no black twitter

I just used the Internet for AIM and Diablo 2 in the 90's.

Okay bong, go brag about it to Mohamed, I'm sure he'll find it way more interesting than I do.

*sips*

niggermania.com was around in 2003, and you could find crazy as shit geo city sites back then.

Attached: howtobebanner.jpg (610x200, 28K)

It was so much better.
If you weren't there you will never be able to imagine what we've lost.

That's disgusting

>sip

Yep Quake was a good game.

Barely any women
No niggers, because they couldn't afford computers.

Based 90s kid here (born August 1999).
90s internet was really boring. The internet is much better now and has better graphics.

Yahoo chat was a riot

>No sips, just tears.
I just realized everything went to shit.

First time I saw any type of unix system was when I hacked my isp and cracked their passwd file which gave me the email passwords of everyone in my small town. I spread the charges for my internet usage around the other users. A few years later I controlled more bandwidth than my country which meant I could get OP on any IRC channel I wanted. This was considered very badass.

It was the birth of internet trolling.

90s was boring, what was the internet like after this site was created, 2004 is about when the party starts

>Barely any women
Take that back, I met hundreds of based and smart chicks on mIRC, even hooked up with some of them.

Based

Israel company.

paid $130 for 32 meg of ram

There were some search engines. They weren’t that great. You had to know the web address you wanted to go.

I remember the birth of ultima online and my decent into mmorpg degeneracy, Good times

You just didn't know where the party was.

You aren't a fucking 90s kid you zoomer faggot

It was pretty tame. My first time on the web I looked at frames from Akira. We had had the world wide webs for a while in our office, but nobody used it. One summer we got an intern who showed us how to use it. Amazing transformation of the office. Free porn at last.

>The schizos and right-wingers
Nigger please
With the exception of the Church or community group that had a never updated geo cities page, the internet was entirely fringe stuff.
The first online sale was drugs.

>usenet
based

And now you LARP on 4chin instead

We had meetups and hookups all the time four our mIRC channels.

Attached: early internet porn.gif (952x1385, 277K)

which was infinitely better than...no porn at all.

there were no normies on the internet. usenet newsgroups were great for discussions and file sharing. no social media, no mainstream media and no censorship. websites were in plain html, no ads and graphics overload, no cookies and trackers.

Attached: 42e7f4itr2j8.png (1485x937, 1.95M)

Ahh yes, still images that take 20 seconds to load or that beautiful 240 video at 3 fps, or that 1:19 min video clip that took 30 mins to download.

Same as today really but they loved social media back then with Usenet, AOL and Yahoo Messenger. now it's modern day FB, Instagram, etc. is demonized night and day.

Attached: supernet.jpg (1000x734, 516K)

but the pop-ups. omfg the pop-ups...

Finished beating off before the picture finished downloading

...

Is this how edging began?
That waiting for the image to load as you fapped?

it was great. no facebook boomers no orcs no instagram whores. actually discussions and funny trolling. i loved the ufo communities

True story but what you could do was access a BBS that had porn pics, let it download packs of pics overnight and see them the next day.

it did, didn't it... the mid to late 90s were the shit

Attached: 1557171431199.png (612x468, 26K)

This: There wasn't all of this left wing faggotry. And mudlimes? Fucking forget it... They barely had electricity back then.

Remember, it was called the world wide wait in the olden times

>Daikatana
I have a copy that I bought used for $1 years ago (still a rip-off at that price) that I need to try to play. If I can get it to work I'll stream it.

He's right, just off by 20 years.

There were a lot of in person conferences with thousand of guy trying to get machines to talk to each other using 20000 standards that mostly worked and cost a fortune to impliment with huge teams to forklift legacy crap to netnew Plus meetings, endless time wasting expensive meetings that occassionally went on for weeks to solve something or another.

You'd be surprised how little time was spent touching equipment and more using a white board to get something functional on paper done. Then project planning and retooling/retraining. Budgets...money and time...equipment...insurance...security...etc. Case scenarios. Endless white papers.

Occassionally got to actually go on the web.

>webrings

Haha do those exist at all anymore?

Got news for you, zoomer. boomers didn't start using the net until the mid 00's or so. Was all gen-x. We built this shit only for you fucks to shit all over it.

The internet was essentially the Chans innanineties. Normienet ruined everything.

Every MMO since UO has been garbage in comparison.

Based Adam Einhorn

bongs didn't invent the internet, our defense department did, faggot.

You gotta keep in mind that dude was a legend at the time and promising a 3d game with friendly AI that your friends could play as online in a co op game 100x the hype of anything in the last 20 years.
For it's smaller community, it was definitely the most hyped thing of all time.
