To be fair, karadiz and mladic have tided the rope around their own necks but Milosevic is a different story. If he wanted to ethically cleanse Yugoslavia of its Bosniak and Croatian populations he would have done it during the war. He had the resources and power to genocide in Serbia but didn’t.

What actually happened is once Yugoslavian states wanted to secede certain border villages and provinces with majority populations from another state wanted to join that state instead.
So you got a bunch of rural hillbilly types deciding on their own who they want to join, goaded by nationalist politicians.
This created a shitshow since no state is willing to let parts of it just simply up and leave so it came to blows fast. It also doesn't help that it was a three-way between croats/serbs/bosnians which is effectively between catholics/orthodox/muslims so there's multiple lines of cultural division.
