Personally, my go to was to hold up each shotshell framed in the back window of my truck before loading it into the tube. Drive to somewhere uninhabited. Speed up real quick around a turn, park diagonal, and crawl across the bench and jump out the passenger side. Keep the engine block between you and their approach. When they come around that bend and see your truck parked across the road and you with the shotgun in a defensive positionn they leave. Don't want to raise a family there.
